Update:
He was returned safely to his home!!

Anyone in the Centerville/ Bountiful area know this pup? We found her off the 500 West exit from I-15
He does have a microchip but unfortunately it's not registered to any owner. He is currently riding with us on appointments and he fortunately does great in the car. If we cannot touch-base with his owners today we will be taking her to Animal Care of Davis County.

Help us reunite him with his people!

Today was a big day for Utah! Go Aggies!!
Both Dr. Vockler and Dr. Barlow are proud graduates of the USU School of Veterinary Medicine. Now there is a fully functioning 4 year veterinary school at Utah State. Something that has been in the making since the year 1907. We are excited for what the future will hold and hoping this will help the veterinary shortage we have in our state!

Utah State University broke ground today for Utah's first veterinary college, marking a major milestone.

Take a look at Nova! When we first met this sweet girl two years ago, she was already a good-sized pup. She weighed 45 pounds when she was 3 months old. Now Nova is over 2 years old and she's 130lbs. 🤯She's a big goofy girl, and she was so brave for her shots! A little bit of cheese may have been used as a bribe. Swipe to see Nova now vs. Nova as a puppy!
We feel like the time went by two quick! We love seeing our patients grow up! 😊

Hello all! We have a client searching for a good home for Teddy. Circumstances have happened that he needs to find a good home so we wanted to share with you all.
Teddy is a 7 and a half year old, male, Goldendoodle. He's neutered and is up to date with all of his vaccinations. He has been a very healthy guy and watch out, he might expect to share some fries with you. He is very sweet and he loves people. If you need a sweet curly haired guy in your life and you're open to sharing your home (and a few fries) with him, please let us know and we can forward you the information to get in touch with Teddy's owner.

We are super excited to announce something major!! Here's the moment we have been waiting to tell you all. 🙌 Dr. Jackie Barlow is joining our practice and will start seeing patients in April. We will be scheduling appointments on Thursdays from 3-8pm.
We could not be more excited to have her join us to be able to serve our amazing patients! ❤️ Contact us to see how to get scheduled for an appointment with Dr. Jackie

Read below to learn more about Dr. Jackie:

Dr. Jackie Barlow is also a proud graduate from the Utah State/Washington State’s veterinary program, completing her studies right at the pinnacle of the COVID-19 pandemic in 2020. Through her years of experience, she has developed a passion for cat behavior, pain management - especially in older animals - preventative health, surgery, dentistry, and providing peaceful euthanasia services for those pets in need. She has deep roots in Davis County and has loved being able to provide meaningful care to its pet community. Dr. Barlow has a love for shelter animals having fostered kittens, medical needs kitties, and a couple large litters of puppies. There is never a dull moment in what seems like her own small animal shelter with four cats, two dogs, four chickens, lots of fish, and a guinea pig.

In her free time, she enjoys spending it with her new baby and husband. When able to, she appreciates the occasional break to go ski, play soccer, try a new art project, or experiment in her hobby garden (wishing she had a green thumb). The opportunity to work for Davis Mobile Vet alongside Dr. Vockler has been a dream come true. Dr. Barlow looks forward to continuing quality medicine with the convenience afforded through this mobile service.

See photo in comments of how the Girl Scout Cookies were picked up from the shipping center. Ways we never thought a mobile vet clinic would be used! 🤣

PSA- stay tuned for some exciting news coming up! We will be making some changes to our practice soon! We can't wait to tell you all about it! And no, it's not what you see in the photo.

Photo: Dr. Vockler is so excited that her brother added another furry member to his family. Maggie may not be so thrilled to find out her auntie is a veterinarian 🤣

It's the season of love ❤️ Make sure you keep your and your loved one's pets safe this Valentines. Just a friendly reminder that lilies are toxic to cats and most of the time they are fatal.

Also remember to keep chocolate away from your pups. If your dog happens to ingest any chocolate keep the wrapper to know what type of chocolate (dark or milk) and to have a guess on how much they may have eaten. Contacting pet poison control can be helpful in knowing if they ingested a toxic amount or not.

We hope you have a great Valentines Day! Give those furry family members some love from us!

We hope everyone has a great Thanksgiving day! We will be closed Thursday and Friday to spend time with our families.
Remember to keep your pet safe and don't share any food that they cannot have. Keep the trash up and away so your pet cannot eat anything they shouldn't! And make sure they cannot get to any raw dough!
Happy Thanksgiving!!

Everyone, meet Maya. We saw Maya a few months ago when she started gaining a lot of weight and losing her fur. She was not acting like her usual self and was more tired. After some testing, Dr. Amanda diagnosed her with hypothyroidism.
This occurs when a dogs thyroid gland isn't functioning properly and is not producing enough thyroid hormone. It is fairly common in dogs. Luckily, it is easy to manage. Just look at the difference in Maya after 1.5 months of being on her thyroid supplement! Swipe to see! Talk about a transformation!!

To celebrate National Veterinary Technician Week, we would like to highlight our awesome technician, Maddi. Maddi started with us in July, and we love having Maddi as part of our staff. Technician's wear many hats in the clinic. They are vet nurses, pharmacy assistants, anesthesia nurses, dental hygienists, surgical techs, doctor assistants and so much more!!

Read more about Maddi: Hi! I’m Maddi. I am a veterinary technician and I have been an animal lover my WHOLE life. I started my career in veterinary medicine right out of high school after I had an internship with a local vet. I have been in the veterinary field for over 6 years. I love being able to help pet parents better understand their pets of all sizes. For the last few years, I have worked full time at one of the local ERs in the area and loved it. I recently made the switch back to preventive care due to the nature of an ER setting and wanting to help pet parents give their pets the best care. I understand how much our pets mean to us and how much they are family.

In my home, there is just me and my partner, Dalton. We have two dogs. Bruce, a 6-year-old corgi mix as well as a rambunctious chocolate lab named Olive. I love taking them on hikes in the beautiful mountains of Ogden and going camping frequently. We also have two other crazy pets in my home. One is named Gremlin (my old man cat) and Deja (baby kitty) who are both full of life and love to be in the mix of it all. Growing up, I’ve always had pets in my home. I've had everything from dogs and cats to horses and reptiles.

You can find me doing some sort of crafts such as wreath making or taking my dogs out to enjoy life. When I get the chance, I love photographing my dogs and the nature around them. Fun fact about me! I am really intrigued by marine life and would love to work with them sometime in the future!

We are always looking for ways to better serve our patients and the other day we got this awesome new toy! We caught this fun little moment of Dr. Vockler testing it out on her dog Bailey. With the 4th of July around the corner, we want to make sure all the animals are thought of. We all love the fireworks and the excitement around the holiday, but it can be a major cause of stress to your animals. Here is a great article done by a fellow mobile vet on ways that you can help your animal get through this stressful time.
With that said, we in Utah have a second holiday coming with the 24th. So make sure you plan ahead for that as well.
