Welcome to A New Beginning Animal Rescue (ANBAR)! We are a 501(c)(3) non-profit Utah-based organization dedicated to saving lives.

A New Beginning Animal Rescue (ANBAR) is a foster-based rescue focused on providing cats and dogs loving temporary homes while awaiting their forever homes. ANBAR primarily focuses in the Weber/Davis County region, but we also accept transfers from throughout northern Utah and surrounding states. Our goal is to reduce unnecessary euthanasia rates and improve animal welfare through community buildi

ng and public education on the mutual benefits of spay/neutering your animals and responsible pet ownership. Through our generous donors and amazing fosters, ANBAR is able to rescue severe medical cases and provide the assistance necessary for their survival. We believe that euthanasia should only be used as a humane last resort, to prevent further animal suffering. ANBAR’s ultimate mission is to give every rescue a new beginning.

Can you believe someone dumped me? 🐶 Neither can I!

But, here I am... just over 1 year old and hoping an active family 🐈‍⬛️ 🩷👨‍👩‍👧‍👧🩷🐕 will want to journey life together!

Hi, I'm Daisy 🌼... a highly energetic girl who has lots of love ❣️ to give.

I am fully potty trained, kennel trained, and I know to stay off 🪑 furniture. Even when I'm told it's ok to get on the couch 🛋, I generally refuse.

Oh boy, do I love to play!!! ⚽️🏈I like toys 🧸🔫of all kinds, playing tug of war ➰️, and play fighting with my foster fur-siblings! I just love getting all the attention I can! 💕

🚗 Car rides are amazing, and so are walks! I bet I'd even enjoy a hike! 🐕🐾🚶‍♂️

I'm still learning, so at times, I may give you a workout when I'm on a leash, and I need to learn to slow down and try not to take the lead... ⚠️but hey, I'm still a pup so maybe you can remind me!

Oh, and while we are spilling the 🦴 bones, sometimes I get too excited and will jump on people. Remember when I said I'm just a puppy? Well, sometimes I just don't realize how big I am and will plow into smaller 🙎‍♂️👧🏻 children. I would never want to hurt them, but sometimes I think I'm a Yorki, not a Lab. 💕 A gentle reminder, and I'm quick to calm down.

But, let's focus on the PAWSitive, shall we? 🐶💘

I LOVE other dogs 🦮🐩 and really hope my new family has one at home, but if not, I guess that's OK too, just as long as you will hang with me! I love, love, love humans... old, young, kids and babies it doesn't matter to me! 👨‍🦱🤵‍♀👴👶

I'm super curious about cats 😻 but show no aggression towards them. They seem pretty cool, and who knows, maybe we could be besties too! 💌

I am incredibly sweet and I'm so grateful for a second chance 🍀 in life... maybe that's why I'm so dog-gone happy! 🎉

I just want ALL the 💕 lovin's 💕 and attention you can possibly give me!!!

I am a fun little doggo. I love everybody and everything!!!

I know how to use a doggie door🚪so I can let myself out. If you don’t have a doggie door that’s fine too. 🐾

I’m around 6 years old. 🎉 I’m spayed and up-to-date on my deworm / vaccinations 💉 and have a microchip just in case I'm ever lost or stolen. ⚠️

Hi I’m Cynder! 🐾 I've come a long way in a very short amount of time. ⏳️ Since being fostered, I've learned that humans can be good! 💞 I've opened up so much and really love being around people!

This is such a stark difference from when I first got here when I was scared and untrusting! 🙀

Mornings and evenings are my favorite times to play and explore! 🪶🧶🧸 Day time naps 💤 are the BEST which works out great if you are away at work!

I am a really sweet and cuddly girl 😻 and I don’t mind being around other 🐈 but it might take me a minute to dare play with them. My foster momma says I'm a "very sweet, well-mannered girl who would make the purrfect companion!"

My whole 🌎 was turned upside down!! Three years ago I was adopted, but my humans sadly left me behind. 💔 Then, I got adopted by a guy who said I would be loved and taken care of, but he lied!! 😾 After leaving me locked 🔐 up in a small kennel with my sister from another rescue all day, every day, he just dropped us off at the scary humane society!!! 😿

Luckily, I was chipped, so they called ANBAR, and I got to come back to a nice foster family who loves me!!! ❤️

Please be patient with me... and don’t let me down again. ❤️‍🩹 I really want a family that will love me forever! 👨‍👩‍👧‍👧🐾

Whisker me away! I am a purrty 3-year-old calico who is being re-homed because my fur-brother 🐈 bullies me. 💔 I would really love a new home 🏡 just as soon as possible because I don't want to get any more owies! 🩹😿

My name is Luma! 😻 Those who know me will confirm that I'm a very sweet and loving girl who likes to cuddle up on laps and give lots of kisses. 💋

I ❤️ to be around people (of all ages, to include kids) 👵🏻👦👶 and I enjoy being in your space as much as possible! I crave being pet, but I don't love being brushed.💈

I'm great with other cats and enjoy playing!!! 🧶🪶🧸 I've never really been around dogs 🐶 but I'm sure if they were nice to me, we would adjust just fine!

I'm an incredibly patient 🐈‍⬛️ and am very well-behaved and listen well.

I'm still waiting for a family who will have 🐈 🐶 and 👦 👶 because I LOVE it all!!!

Hi, I'm Mr. Boots and I'm two years old! ⌛️

I really hope you enjoy cuddling because that's one of my favorite things to do! I ❤️ tummy rubs and sleeping 💤 right next to humans! You want to watch a movie 🎬? Sure, just so long as I get to sit on your lap!!! Chances are, I'll follow 🐾 you around the house too because I'm social like that!

I also ❤️ to play! I'm quite the character and often times wonder if I'm a dog 🐕 since one of my favorite hobbies is fetch with a jingly toy! 😸

I'm a good boy and super handsome, as you can plainly see! I mind all my manners and won't give you any trouble at all! 😻

Foster or family needed NOW! They want me gone. 💦

My pawrents don't want me anymore! 😿 For some reason, their other cat 🐈 and I just haven't hit it off, and because I'm the new girl (and a little shy) I'm the one getting the boot! 🥾

My name is Nala. I'm only 9 months old 🎂, and everyone tells me how beautiful I am with my long-hair and purrty gold eyes 👀! But, I guess being cute isn't enough. I'm not enough! 💔

I tried to play with my fur-brother and was so nice to him, but he hates me! It makes me sad💧because I would like a FURRiend!

Plus I LOVE ❤️ to play 🪶 🧶 so I need someone who will help entertain me! It doesn't matter what toy or what time of dayas long as I have the opportunity to play, I will!

My "family" didn't have dogs 🐶 or kids 🧒👶 but my foster family did, and I was just fine with them!

I was actually rescued from a colony when I was just a few months old and though I'm bashful, the sweet lady 🙋🏼‍♀️😻 who found me thought I had potential! So, she called A New Beginning Animal Rescue. 🐾

I loved my foster family 🫂 because they were so patient with me. They were sad to see 👀 me go, but convinced I had found my furever home 🏡. We were all wrong! 😥

My "dad" doesn't like how skittish I am. I've only been with them for about 3 months, which, often times, isn't enough time for new pets to adjust. ❤️‍🩹

They just gave up on me! 😾 Humans don't understand how scary 🙀 it can be, going to a new 🏠 with new smells 👃🦎🐈🐭👵🏻👩🏼👨‍🦱👨.

I'm a simple girl and I don't have any bad habits! I know where my litter box 📦 is and I don't scratch at the furniture 🛋 or jump on the table!

I've already been dewormed, vaccinated, 💉 microchipped and spayed so you don't need to worry about any of that!

Have you been looking for a 🐈 who has a sweet heart ❤️ but may just need a little extra love to help me realize that humans are actually good? I promise 🤞 I'll do my part, if you give me a chance! I am CAT-fidant that we will make a good team and that I will be a great family member!!!

Our Story

A New Beginning Animal Rescue (ANBAR) is a volunteer-driven 501(c)(3) non-profit Utah-based organization. Our goal is to thoughtfully reduce unnecessary euthanasia rates; improve Weber and Davis Counties’ animal welfare with compassion and respect through community building and public education on the mutual benefits of responsible pet parenting; and enhance the quality of life of companion animals in need of a new beginning and a forever home. We strive to ensure that each and every animal rescued by ANBAR is cared for; treated with compassion, respect, and dignity. While we are located in the Roy-Layton-Ogden, UT area, we also partner with local and regional groups and accept transfer rescues from throughout northern Utah and the surrounding states. ANBAR does not turn away any companion animals but welcomes them regardless of their condition and do not place a time limit on their stay with us. We believe that euthanasia should be used only as a humane last resort, to prevent further animal suffering – such as when an animal is terminally ill, critically injured, or dying. ANBAR embraces a multi-prong strategic service approach to contribute to reach our goal of reducing the number of adoptable animals euthanized each year. Our services include: *Rehoming and Adoption opportunities and events for ANBAR companion animals *Spay/neuter of ANBAR animals, to effectively reduce the problems of pet overpopulation *Veterinary care for ANBAR animals *Volunteer foster care program to provide housing for rescued or surrendered companion animals, until a qualified forever home is found *Volunteer foster care for special needs animals *Volunteer public education and training programs Rehome and Adoption Opportunities and Events: ANBAR is gratified to have a long-standing special partnership with Petco in holding adoption events every Saturday - without exception - at the Petco store in Layton, UT, since our inception in 2008. Additionally, up to 3 kittens and young cats are displayed at the Petco store for adoption, and rotated weekly to increase visibility and opportunity. Nearly 5,000 companion animals (kittens, cats, puppies, and dogs – and rabbits) have found homes through our adoption events as a result of this joint endeavor.
