Did you think that because I tell you, as a client. No furniture allowed. When a dog first comes home from training, and everything needs to transition properly... that I mean forever? No 👎 (although rarely are my dogs on furniture, they prefer the cold tile and not convinced they like when their human sister gets them up to try to smoosh mom) but much like we always start ON LEASH, then dropped leash, then off leash.... furniture privileges are earned privileges. Why? Well why do you have your children earn walking around the block by themselves through repetition and trust? Why do they earn the keys to a car through respect, repetition and trust? Why do we let them earn cooking in your kitchen? Swimming alone? Babysitting others? Getting a job? Etc etc etc
Earned privileges are easily taken away if bad decisions are made . Especially if that kid driving dads car let's it go to their head. Privileges are earned through consistent competent good decisions. For behavior, safety, and maturing the mind through guidance and assistance with rules and boundaries. Respect.
But keep on giving that 15 yr old a free porche without earning it. You'll have some replacement parts and behavior modifications pop up. Much like most dogs initially coming in to training. Start off right... we bypass the drama and life is fluid ❤️ just because they behave for me, as much as humans like robots, dogs are living thinking beings and know who's let them walk all over whom. Teaching them to listen to grandma and mom and dad...does NOT come only from a click of a button. It comes through relationship building and consistency in expectations
But... if I want it...I'll always have dogs to train 🐕
