If I had to sum up today in one word it would be thankful.

I have first hand experience and the pleasure to have owned two pitbulls throughout my life. I understand the inescapable feeling of judgment from others and derogatory comments towards this outstanding breed. To have the freedom to set my schedule, allows me to shine a light on the truth regarding pitbulls. The headline would not read as dangerous, untrustworthy nor evil.

Today was filled with love. I have never received more compassion or love in my time working with dogs than I have today. This was a very meaningful day to me.

We will be hosting Pitbull day much more often going forward. This career in this town is an ultimate blessing.

I put my money and support into small business. I know first hand the time, effort and care it takes. For the past few days I have been visiting Balanced Brews in LeRoy. Before going to a chain-coffee shop or a gas station, consider them first. I believe LeRoy is a good place for business and even better for building relationships with your clients. You can tell that they believe in that as well. Give them a try and you will no longer prefer gas station coffee.

Here is what the industry hides from you - many of these shops you enter will only put one pump of shampoo and conditioner in their bottles, using that same bottle on three different dogs. Resulting in saving them money and your dog smelling fresh for mere moments. That does not happen here. I am here for not only the animals, but to do right by my clients. Quality over currency.

At very reasonable pricing, you will get the desired results along with hair off the floors and out of the house! I believe in results. I will continue to strive for results.

The trendy haircuts, the bows, the coloring on coats - that all is great and has it's place in the industry. My strong suit in the industry has always been the ability to work with dogs that other grooming shops have issues with or kick out. I have had a high success rate with dogs that are labeled unmanagable.

Patience, understanding and consistency. It may take a few sessions but together, your dog and I will create a bond. If you have a dog that 'can't be worked with' or even needs a sedated groom, I will gladly help you out. To me, no dog is unmanagable. There is no in and out rush with these pups. That is not what they need. I will train them. It is what I do.

Recently, I have had an uptick in clients with allergies and skin issues. If your dog is experiencing allergies or skin issues, I have a great remedy to help your dog feel better!

Skin issues can arise at any point in any season. I spent three months scouting for the best 1-2 punch of shampoo and conditioner that is only available for professional groomers. Hello everyone,

Firstly, I appreciate everyone's graces for allowing me the privacy and patience throughout my time away.

I will be returning Tuesday, September the 5th. With that being said, I will be stepping away from grooming. The repetitive movements deteriorate the leads to my pacemaker, resulting in broken leads.

I will be giving baths and nail trims. Prices will remain the same.

Thank you to all whom have supported the business. I will continue to give everything that I have in the tank. Thank you to Doctor Bane's office for the ongoing support to the business and clientele.

I know that I said my target date to return would be the end of this week. Unfortunately my return will not be happening that quickly.

After speaking with professionals and talking it over with my family, we feel that receiving surgery to repair the broken leads to my pacemaker is the most efficient route to take at this time.

Being sidelined instead of spending time with your animals is not something that I envisioned for this spring/summer season. Although I am disappointed, I know I will return feeling better than where I left off.

Thank you for your support and understanding. I plan on making phone calls to all clients currently lined up for near future appointments. The timing of my return is unknown at this time. I am hopeful to return early-mid summer.

I will be making recommendations in the meantime. Again, thank you to my clients and family for your support.

From the beginning, I have set lower prices to make grooming more accessible for everyone. I take pride in ordering top product for my clients. In order for me to continue to keep pricing lower and getting top product, please have your payment available after our appointment. If you are unable to pay at that time, I ask you please to inform me and keep me in the loop.

It is my goal to continue to keep prices very fair. If you are unable to pay at the time, just let me know a target date by which you are able to make your payment. I am here for the community and will continue to be. Open communication is always welcome.

Pending on the breed of your dog, you may want to a partial groom. A partial groom is cleaning up anything but the body. The body remains untouched.

⚠️ Policy Update ⚠️

It is extremely important that all clients make their appointments. I do not charge for missing appointments. With that being said, there is a two strike policy in place.

If you miss two appointments, grooming services will no longer be available for you at the LeRoy Vet Clinic.

Cancelations are appreciated. I understand life and how things can pop up. A cancelations is NOT considered a no show. If you are not able to attend your appointment, please let me know. There will be no penalty or fees for cancelations. However, there is no guarantee that your pet will get in right away with the schedule being booked out two months in advance currently.

You must show up at the time that we set up. A fifteen minute grace period is given. A later arrival will result in having to reschedule.

Currently my cell phone is down. If you are in need of scheduling an appointment please call 309-962-7421. Thursdays, Saturdays and Sundays are the days that I will be in contact with you in regards to setting up a day and time for an appointment.

Living in a small town as myself, I understand the difficulties of traveling out of town for your pet's grooming needs.

Humanity over vanity is what I believe in and will always believe in when it comes to the profession of dog and cat grooming.

Shaving down a matted dog is not easy. It can be painful, hurt progress and the relationship between the groomer and dog. When making this choice to get the mats out, groomers consider the dangers if they were to just let the dog walk out of the door without getting them out. Those issues range from skin issues (vet bill $) to behavioral changes due to discomfort. Therefore, the idea of shaving down a dog because it is "easier" is false. It is not easier. Preferably, groomers would like their clients to be well brushed out and maintained between grooming sessions. Only then can we give you the haircut that you desire for your pup.

Detangler and a good brush are key. Your dog and groomer will thank you for staying on top their hair care needs. A link is posted below to hopefully clear up any confusion!
