At Mountain Dogs, we also love Mountain Cats!

For cat day, meet our Mountain Cats, Gibson and Sophie! Gibson adopted us when his owners moved without him. We brought him to the shelter and then adopted him when no one came forward. He was adopted from the Iowa City Animal Care & Adoption Center in Iowa City. He is completely mute and makes hissing sounds instead of Meows. Gibson is the most laid back cat you will ever meet in your life. Gibson has been with us for 12 years. He loved being a Hawkeye and now he loves being a Mountain Cat.

Sophie is a TICA world champion bloodline purebred Turkish Van. Sophie was returned to the breeder at 3 years old and then we were able to adopt her. We drove to Chicago to pick her up and the rest is history. Despite being known as a "swimming cat," Sophie chooses violence at bath time. She's been with us for 11 years.

Everyone gets along, even with our kid! 💜

We are continuing to update our signage. Thank you for all of the love for our new logo designed by Brad Rich! The logo is the three dogs shared by owners Adam and Elizabeth. Archie, the dachshund lived for 16.5 years and crossed the rainbow bridge in 2019, Lucy our Giant Schnoodle, and Betty White in the center, our foster fail from Leadville/Lake County Animal Shelter. The colors are the palette of our high country sunsets on the Sawatch Range, which we can see from our dog yard.

We have FREE stickers at the register, so be sure to ask for one- or two! We will be keeping our Mountain Dog animated mascot designed by Harperrose Studios as well! We love their artwork, so be sure to stop in and see them on Harrison sometime.
