Our Mission is to promote the humane treatment of animals and their people through advocacy, community outreach, education, and adoption services. Our mission is to educate the community through community outreach & youth programs, continue to support low cost spay & neuter options, and to provide safe and proper care for the animals in our facility while they await adoption. Meet Bonzo! ❄️ 🐶

Bonzo is a five-year-old neutered male looking for a place to call home. He’s fully vaccinated and currently living with kids, a cat, and another dog.

He loves his walks and would benefit from having another dog to help him adjust. Bonzo is a bit shy at first, but with time and patience, he becomes a loyal and loving companion.

Nutter Butter has been doing amazing while in foster, he really has shined through with rainbow colors! 🌈 He is playful, lovable, cuddly and loves nothing more then enjoying the outside world by going hiking, fishing or just taking a nice sunbath outside just to go home and take a big fat nap to recover for some more playtime!

Our Story

Mission: Our mission is to find these animals, whether they are strays or owner surrenders, loving and forever homes. Please help share these photos so the animals can find loving, furever homes! We are always looking for volunteers to help walk the dogs, socialize the pets, and more! Swing by the shelter in your spare time, or to get community service hours. Hours of operation: Open 7 days a week 9:30am-12:00pm and 1pm-5pm We are closed on Major Holidays (719) 486-8951 Please email us at [email protected] with questions about adopting a pet and/or what is available for adoption at our shelter!

Our prices for adoption vary depending on treatment the animal has received.

We are a small City /County Local Government with minimal help. We are helping animals running at large or who have been missed placed with owners due to unusual circumstances to be reunited with their owners , We will take surrendered animals Dogs/Cats in our City and County Limits . We do not bring animals in from other states or facilities .

All Dogs must be Licensed with the Animal shelter if they live in Leadville or Lake County
