Earlier this week our Dog Park Committee president w**d whacked the large patch of foxtails growing in the center of the park. Today another committee member spent a good amount of time raking up the whacked w**ds. These VOLUNTEERS work hard to make the Lake County Dog Park a pleasant, and SAFE, place for your dogs to have an open space to run, play, and meet new doggie friends.
Please be aware that there are some foxtail remnants remaining and try to monitor your dog(s)’ noses, paws, ears for the wisps of the foxtail plants that can become embedded if your dog sniffs, walks, rolls in a foxtail. They can be very dangerous to your pup.
Although we do our best to maintain the park we can only do so much…and, remember, we are VOLUNTEERS! A plan to hopefully control, or completely eradicate the foxtails is in the works!
Please do your part…monitor your dog while in the park …most importantly: pick up their p**p. Thank you to everyone who IS a responsible dog owner and Lake County Dog Park partner.
