There's something in the WIND!

An update on our future plans. We are pursuing our 501c3 status as a non-profit organization dedicated to providing assistance to the shelters and rescue groups in the area that do such an amazing job. More details will be available soon, but we have a detailed plan on how we can support the local rescue angels that save so many needy animals. This is all supported by the Sea Dog Inn Pet Resort who has been helping save animals for the past 25 years. Sea Dog Inn has housed thousands of dogs and cats needing temporary housing while awaiting foster or adoption. Sea Dog Saves will allow even more assistance to get animals in new forever homes. Sea Dog Inn has never turned a needy animal away, and the staff fully supports our motto, "There's always room at the INN".

Chocolate lab found on Egret bay this afternoon. We took the pup to the vet no chip. Dog had a collar on no tags we removed so owner can identify collar to us to claim. If this baby is yours please reach out to Sea Dog Inn Pet Resort 281 554 2068

Sea Dog Inn, Inc is a League City pet boarding facility that has been assisting rescue organizations save thousands of dogs and cats for the past 25 years with low cost or no cost temporary boarding of pets that need rescue but do not have a foster or space available. We named our expanded rescue program Sea Dog Saves. Our hearts have been touched and we are exploring how we can be even more helpful in uniting needy animals with loving homes. More details will be announced in the next few months.

If one of the local shelter or rescue groups is interested in launching a similar program we at Sea Dog Inn Pet Resort would be interested in offering free boarding when needed for seniors that take these animals in. Guidelines can be established to ensure the shelter, the foster owner, the pet, and Sea Dog are all happy.

We have been assisting local rescue angels for the past 24 years to find new loving homes for dogs and cats. Beginning Sunday, Feb 19th we will be receiving approximately 60 rescued dogs from Bayou Animal Services as they are having their dog kennel building remodeled. We are excited to be able to lend a hand to this wonderful rescue group as they help so many homeless dogs and cats find new loving homes. Just saw an article that owner surrenders are up 80% in some places. The high cost of everything is obviously affecting the lives and futures of many pets. We support many worthy rescue and shelter groups and hope you will find one that you can get behind and give financially or support in other ways.

This is Jack, he lived with another dog and when their owner brought them to the shelter they shared a kennel. That was until his friend left today. We had asked for help with for his friend, but we didn’t know about Jack until today😢. Jack needs a hero too. Please spread the word Jack is in the shelter too.

On the “National Day of Giving,” aka , we introduced Gump. He is a sweet senior fellow who came into rescue back in early 2020. This precious little guy was originally adopted out by the Houston SPCA many years ago and he lived happily with his family for a good while. A few years ago, he was given away to family friends, but apparently that didn't turn out well, because he was later picked up on the street, looking like a skeleton after some rough time as a stray. We can't speak as to what actually happened to him, but we know it was totally undeserved, as he is one of the sweetest little guys we’ve ever known.

Because of his age and his subsequent diagnosis of Mega Esophagus, Gump has become a well loved “forever foster.” With Mega Esophagus, the esophagus becomes enlarged and is unable to do its job of pushing food and water down. This causes it to accumulate in the esophagus and not pass through, eventually leading to regurgitation. ME is certainly not a death sentence, unless the suffering dog is unable to eat or drink, to retain the food and water needed.

Gump is pictured here in his new ‘Bailey Chair,’ which is a piece of equipment designed to help dogs with Mega Esophagus. The chair allows a suffering dog to eat and drink in a completely vertical position, which aids the food and water to get into the stomach by way of gravity. Our ATDR promise to Gump and to all dogs we take in, is that no matter what, we will always find a way to provide them with whatever they need to thrive and survive! This is a promise we couldn’t keep without the continuing help from amazing supporters like you!
