Have you ever wanted to help shelter dogs but can’t adopt or foster right now? Did you know that LCAC offers a Dog Day Getaway program where you can check a dog out of the shelter for the afternoon & take them for a day out? We do!

Stop by the shelter any time during business hours to pick up your new friend (no preregistration required!) and then head out! Head to the park, the beach, a drive thru for a pup cup - whatever you want! You can even just take them home for a few hours of cuddle time on your couch!

These short outings make a huge difference to shelter dogs by offering them a break from the stress of the kennel and by helping us learn more about who these dogs are out of the shelter to help them get adopted! Plus it’s fun for you too! BONUS! 🤩

(Photos are of adoptable dog, Trophy, who enjoyed a fun day out today with one of his besties, Isabelle! Thank you for taking him out!)

With more than 100 dogs/puppies at the shelter and in foster care, we are desperately in need of dog crates (especially medium and larger!)

Donated crates not only provide extra kennel space to dogs on site, but also support our foster & pet resource programs, keeping more dogs out of the shelter!

New or used crates accepted. Visit GiftHero.com/LeagueCityAnimalCare to order & ship directly!

With over 150 pets onsite at League City Animal Care, there is MORE TO LOVE this June!

We are currently 60% over capacity in our canine areas and 12% over capacity in our feline areas. This means that 33 dogs/puppies and 7 cats/kittens are currently housed in offices, work areas, pop-up crates, or other areas not intended to house them. We need our community's support to help us reduce these numbers!

HOW CAN YOU HELP?
🐾ADOPT - We're waiving adoption fees for the remainder of the month to make it even easier to bring your new bestie home with you!
🐾FOSTER - Can't commit for life? No problem! You can make a huge impact on the lives of our pets by providing a temporary foster home to a pet in need!
🐾VOLUNTEER - Our volunteers are vital to our animal care and adoption programs - even more so when we're full! Apply today to volunteer!
🐾DONATE - Your donations, whether in kind or monetary, support the animals in our care. You can drop off donations in person, shop our wish list, or make an online donation.
🐾SHARE - Sharing this post ensures more people will see it! Help us spread the word by hitting that share button!
