We own a small farm in Southern Indiana not far from Louisville, Kentucky. We have lived in Southern Indiana on our farm for nearly 30 years. All of our dogs are family pets and are raised in our home, they also have seven fenced acres to run and play. If you’re looking for the perfect companion dog, a dog with beauty, brains and personality, you’ve come to the right place. Saint Berdoodles are a
cross between a Saint Bernard and a Standard Poodle. They blend some of the best traits of each breed in an adorable, allergy-friendly package. And we absolutely fell in love with the breed when we purchased our first Saint Berdoodle – Fitz. They are amazing with our kids and grandkids, we couldn’t ask for better dogs for our family. We’re Chris and Andrea Hogue, the owners of Yankee Doodle Puppies. We’ve worked steadily to develop a breeding program that focuses on health, a calm temperament, great conformation and gorgeous coloring. We take great pride in our dogs; I am present for every delivery. We start day one working hands-on with each and every puppy. We use Volhard testing at day 49. The tests are as follows:
• Social Attraction - degree of social attraction to people, confidence or dependence.
• Following - willingness to follow a person.
• Restraint - degree of dominant or submissive tendency, and ease of handling in difficult situations.
• Social Dominance - degree of acceptance of social dominance by a person.
• Elevation - degree of accepting dominance while in a position of no control, such as at the veterinarian or groomer.
• Retrieving - degree of willingness to do something for you. Together with Social Attraction and Following a key indicator for ease or difficulty in training.
• Touch Sensitivity - degree of sensitivity to touch and a key indicator to the type of training equipment required.
• Sound Sensitivity - degree of sensitivity to sound, such as loud noises or thunderstorms.
• Sight Sensitivity - degree of response to a moving object, such as chasing bicycles, children or squirrels.
• Stability - degree of startle response to a strange object. I can say with confidence that all Yankee Doodle Puppies are carefully and conscientiously bred, well-socialized, fun-loving family dogs. I can also say that each and every Yankee Doodle Puppy is unique. As hybrids, they vary in size, color, coat type, and personality. Your Yankee Doodle Puppy will truly be one-of-a-kind! We love the fact that no two Saint Berdoodles are exactly the same, but the range of possibilities means that you need a breeder you can trust to find the right Saint Berdoodle for you and your family. I have been personally matching puppies to families for several years now. The many testimonials at Yankee Doodle Puppies will attest to my success in doing so. With so much experience under our belts, my husband and I can probably answer any question you throw at us. But there’s always more to discover about dogs, and it seems like we learn something new every day, often from our clients. The Yankee Doodle community has become so much more than we ever imagined. When you purchase one of our puppies, you get a lifetime of support not just from us but from other families that have a Yankee Doodle puppy via our private Yankee Doodle Family Facebook group. It is available only to families that have purchased a YDP. Whether you’re concerned about nipping, dog food, crate training, chewing or vaccinations, you’ll likely find answers on the Facebook group. It’s a great group of people with an immense love for their dogs. We love having contact with our families and seeing all the pictures posted. We look forward to a lifelong friendship,
