This is for FREE DNA tests. These are usually over $100 per test (though sometimes they have specials) But it would help tremendously when we have mixes to learn some of the characteristics/behaviors of the breeds that they are a mix of, which will help with placement into their forever homes. 🧡

Can you believe it's 2 weeks until 2024?! We are working on the January cleaning schedule at the rescue. We need help the following days/times:
Tuesdays at 10:30 AM
Thurdays at 12:00 noon
Saturdays, Jan 13 & 27 at 11:00 AM while Randi takes dogs to Petsmart.
Please, please look at your schedules and see if you can offer one or two days (or more) to help the weens. They love having humans around. This gives them a chance to socialize with humans and other dogs. They get to run around outside. The more they are around humans, the faster some will be ready for adoption.

Pennsylvania’s own, Taylor Swift is TIME's Person of the Year. And, featured alongside her on the cover is her rescue cat, Benjamin Button.

To honor Swift, and help shelters everywhere who have had a particularly hard year, we’re proposing the to celebrate her birthday on December 13.

Together, we can make a difference for so many cats just like Benjamin (who looks a lot like the 92 cats we rescued earlier this year), and we think Taylor would approve of that.

These two!! Moxie and Twister are biologically brother and sister-from the same litter. Twister isn’t socialized with people enough to be ready for adoption but he definitely loves his sister. 🧡 They love to play with each other like this! They don’t do it all the time but I love when they do 😍😍😍

Alright y’all, we need help! And I know that you guys won’t let us down! The wind has officially murdered the fence! 😞 the rescue is on a hill with no wind block, so I guess it was bound to happen sooner or later. We are looking to replace it this weekend if we can raise enough funds ($1000-1500 ish) to do so. We plan to do a chain link fence (privacy fencing is just too expensive to even entertain) so that it will be a lot sturdier than what we currently have! We just need to buy the supplies. We need fencing, poles, concrete, gates, etc and Im also looking into maybe concrete footers so they can’t dig and adding coyote rollers at the top to keep critters out-since we are out in the country-ish. If you’d like to help us to get this done ASAP, we need money (or Home Depot gift cards) to do so! We get ZERO money from any place other than adoption fees or donations from amazing people like you! Dachshunds are the best!

My love for Doxies started ALL the way back in 2006, when I worked for a Real Estate office. A woman and her little girl came in with the tiniest, most adorable puppy I’d ever seen! She was a mini dachshund, a black and tan dapple, and from that point on-that is all I wanted! So, for my birthday in 2006-that is what I got! Ever since then, my love for these little long dogs has grown exponentially!

I always check Craigslist and FB to see if there are any dachshunds that need homes, and post them in a Doxie lovers of Kansas group, to try to find homes. I’ve taken some in, and I’ve even transported some. I finally decided, with a recent CL save-Frankie, that I was going to pursue becoming an actual rescue...so that I can help MORE dogs, and also be a tax deductible entity to people that are willing to help me! I have a big heart with lots of love for these little dogs

Randi’s Rockin Dachshund Rescue is not your traditional rescue. Although we are a 501(c)(3) and are state licensed, all dogs who pass through our doors enter into our family. We are a home-based facility where they live openly as a pack. The dogs-sleep in the bed with me, and become one of my “kids” until their new forever home has been chosen. I personally call the possible adopters vet, reference, and do a home check before the dog ever leaves my possession. It takes a lot of work-but I do ever step I can to ensure the BEST possible FOREVER home for these weenies.
