Animal Health Center of Leawood is a dream turned reality for Morgan. From the time she could speak, Morgan has wanted to be a veterinarian. She is excited to create a veterinary hospital where her patients and clients can be treated like family.
Morgan Matile Wilcox grew up in Bucyrus, Kansas. She attended Blue Valley High School. Her participation in Johnson County 4-H fostered her love of animals from a very young age. She was able to raise cattle, hogs, and sheep. During high school and college, she spent her breaks from school working in different veterinary clinics and animal shelters in order to learn as much as she could about veterinary medicine.
Dr. Wilcox graduated summa cm laude from Oklahoma State University with a B.S. in Biochemistry/Molecular Biology. She then graduated summa cm laude from Kansas State College of Veterinary Medicine with a DVM. After graduating from veterinary school in 2015, Dr. Wilcox worked as an associate veterinarian in the Kansas City area until the opening of AHC Leawood in 2020.
Morgan lives in Prairie Village with her husband Nick and son Lincoln. They have one dog Tuff who is a 16-year-old wheaten mix. They also have a cat named Hester that they rescued and bottle raised. When not at the hospital, Dr. Wilcox enjoys spending time with her family, friends, and pets. During her free time, she can be found hiking, biking, practicing yoga, and baking.
