Checking on the Mamas cooking some babies. All ate small meals this week. All sitting on hot spots. Shooting to start popping out babies in the next month or so. Fingers crossed for healthy babies for everyone this year.

Took Noah herping after the rain calmed down. He found a sweet water snake, we found several Ring-necks and a couple salamanders.

Hes/she has been watching the horn worms for a few days. So I decided to give him a dubia. Took it and ran off. Came back again yesterday.

Listening to In Blue Podcast with Ryan and Erica McVeigh. I look over at Clark in his tank. He just happens to be basking under his VivTech Products SurSun Mid-Day Blaze.

In the morning he sits under his heat light. As the day goes on he moves closer to his UV. Before I got Vivtech UV I never saw this behavior. Thanks to this high quality product, I get to experience more behaviors.

Picked up a sweet group of books today. Pretty stoked about these babies.

Obviously the huge score was Richard Ross' book. But, got a few others that I'm pretty excited about as well. If you know me; you know I couldn't leave the Rosy boa book behind. Heck it even has a section on Loxocemus in that one too. Previous owner has some notes in them as well, which is cool to see too.

One of my favorite things about spending time in the field is the flowers. I love how in such a dry "lifeless" habitat you can actually find so much life, that happens to be very beautiful when you slow down and actually enjoy it.

Im super stoked for these beautiful boas I picked up today from Vin Russo at Cutting Edge Herpetological Inc.

This locality of Columbian Red-tail Boa sits right on the North Western base of the Andes Mountains in South America. Because of the low elevation at this location of the mountain range it is possible that these boas get some influence from the true red-tailed boas from the east side of the Andes Mountains (Boa constrictor). This possible influence could be a reason these boas have such a beautiful vibrant red tail compared to some of the other Central American Boas.
