**WARNING: LONG UPDATE POST**
Hey there, everybody. Ethan here.
It's been a long time.
As many of you know, our family has been beset by trials and tribulations innumerable. For more than a year now, we have been without what most of us would call "normalcy". We've been brought to the very edge of our breaking point more times than I would like to admit. But things are improving. Things are coming along. And although I'm hesitant to say it, there is a light at the end of the tunnel.
Here I'd like to name a few of the people that helped us immensely through this time, and continue to help us with both word and deed. My mom and stepdad, Beverly and Duane Mayfield, Chris and Donna Carlstrom of Rooted Rarities, Neil Craig, Connor and Chantelle Burgal, Joshua Torres, Stephanie Lawson, Brandan Buzer, Max Willner, Justin Jones, and many, many others
This plant business has been on the back burner for a long time, and rightfully so. There's been too much to do, and to be completely honest, there continues to be too much to do. While our house is mostly put back together, there are numerous things that have fallen completely into disrepair and disorder while working on the house. Understandably so. But every day we get a little closer. A little closer to that evasive state of existence we call "normalcy." Because of the mold we battled that sapped the health of us and our children, and the fire that took what we'd rebuilt from the mold, we may never look at a spilled glass of water or an inexpensive Chinese-made appliance the same way ever again. Maybe "normality on quote isn't all that is cracked up to be. But regardless, we strive. Everyday.
Fox & Bear is coming back, but in a different way than before. Until we achieve some sense of normalcy, until our house is a home again, Tasha will not be involved in the day-to-day running of Fox and Bear Tropical and Rare Plants with her new job driving a bus for the school our children attend, and making our house a safe home again, she does not have the time to deal with customer service and the growing of plants. I respect that decision. And I value her help in what she is able to do.
For the foreseeable future, when dealing with Fox and Bear, you will be dealing with me, Ethan. Tasha asks that she not be contacted about availability of plants, or anything related to plants for that matter, until she is prepared to step back into the plant community. She is, however, always welcome and open to messages from her friends, many of which she has made in the plant community. 😊
Because of limited time, I will not be doing large purges where I'm packaging 20 to 50 plants on a Sunday night to ship out the following Monday. I will instead be focusing on small scale events and local plant sales. Some of our plants are available at various boutiques around our hometown of Lebanon, Missouri.
Our stock of plants has been building over the last few months and will continue to build in the coming months. Stay tuned for availability.
From the bottom of our hearts, we thank everyone for your patience, love, and support over the last 15 months.
