New Litter Announcement

We are proud to introduce Hazel & Boone's beautiful "Little Herb" litter!

Purple Collar Female - Sage
Pink Collar Female - Rosemary
Yellow Collar Female - Bay Leaf
White Collar Female - Marjoram
Red Collar Female - Parsley
Blue Collar Male - Thyme
Black Collar Male - Dill
Green Collar Male - Chives

These F1 standard tri colored Bernedoodles are named after their beautiful Momma Hazel. Hazel's nickname in our house has always been "Hazel Basil." She has many nicknames in her Guardian Family's home and answers to them all including Piggy Bear, House Hippo, and Pork Buns. The creative and endless nicknames are a clear indicator of how deeply loved Miss Hazel is in her Guardian Home. However, in our home, Hazel has always been "Hazel Basil."

We wanted to honor Hazel with what is planned to be her retirement litter by naming each little one after their loving Momma. All 8 of Hazel's little ones are named after an herb just like their Momma Hazel's nickname "Hazel Basil."

It is always bittersweet when we have a retirement litter. It's the end of a beautiful journey and the beginning of a new phase of life for our parent dogs. It's a journey that not only we have navigated with Hazel but also a journey that Hazel's Guardian Family has navigated with us during the past 3 years. We are beyond grateful for Hazel's parents. Being a Guardian Family requires trust, patience, understanding, and sacrifice. Being without your dog for 8 weeks isn't for the faint of heart. However, understanding that your dog has the ability to bring little ones into the world that truly heal hearts and change lives is such a blessing. Hazel blessed us with 3 litters and 28 little souls that forever changed their family's lives for the better. What a gift she has been not only for her Guardian Family, but within our family, our program, and families all across the U.S.

We love you dearly Hazel Basil!

This litter is fully reserved. Our next planned litter of standards is set to arrive this Fall. Fill out our puppy application below if you are interested in bringing home your own KBD puppy!

Delivery Basket Supplies

All of the materials seen are used to help Momma and puppies during the delivery process.

At KBD we intervene during the birthing process and cut and clamp all our puppies umbilical cords. We do this to help avoid umbilical cord hernias.

We help Momma clean off babies by wiping them down with washcloths and provide suction with our suction bulb for puppies who are struggling to breath, have a lot of fluid in their lungs or fluid in their nose. It's super important to be trained in neonatal care to assist if needed during the birthing process and post delivery.

We have coconut oil on hand to administer if puppies are stuck in the birth canal and need assistance in delivering.

We also have our daily NuVet Plus supplement we give our Mommas daily as well as Oral Cal Plus and Healthy Bones for a boost in calcium during and post delivery for our Mommas.

Each Momma is different and every delivery is different. At KBD we prepare in advance by having all birthing supplies on hand and ready to ensure our Mommas are cared for and our puppies are given the best chance to thrive during and after birth.

Thank you for providing neonatal care classes for breeders! Your courses are priceless!

Comment "Supplies" for a list of all items included in our "Delivery Baskets."

Calloway Banks

Baby Banks is growing up but staying tiny! This stunning red head is charting to be around 25 pounds full grown which is perfect for our mini lines.

Banks is one of our mini multigenerational Bernedoodle future studs. He has completed all of his health testing and simply waiting to fully mature before beginning his breeding career this Fall.

Banks has a stunning deep red straight coat. He will produce both tri colored and red/white Bernedoodles. All of his puppies will be fully furnished for that low to almost non shed coat.

I know we have ALOT of Banks fans. Make sure to comment "Banks" below to show this boy some love.

Primrose Faye

Prim is one of our mini multigenerational Bernedoodle future Mommas. Prim lives full time with her Guardian Family but came to visit last week for a playdate and photo shoot. It's safe it say we all just adore this beauty.

Prim is gentle, loving, easy going, super obedient, playful, and full of personality. She was a breeze to bathe, blow dry, and groom. I was so impressed with her temperament and training.

Prim has a beautiful wavy coat with insane intensity. Her inky black and deep rust markings are dreamy! This girl is the whole package when it comes to genetics, health, temperament, and markings.

We are thrilled to have not only 1 but 3 incredible up and coming mini Bernedoodle Mommas. Comment "Prim" if you're excited about this sweet girl.

Puppy Folder

Our puppy folder is ready to go! Thanks to for providing charts and software that helps breeders to be organized and prepared.

At KBD we use the "Delivery Chart" to document each puppies birth order, gender, weight, and any birth defects.

We use the "Neonatal Care Chart" to document each puppies weight during their 8 weeks with us, their reaction to Early Scent Introduction, and their reaction to Early Neurological Stimulation.

All of this info is then uploaded on the BAB Software and printed out for our KBD families to include in our KBD Go Home Bags on Go Home Day.

We then place the whole folder with our litter contracts in our filing cabinet to have on hand to reference if needed in the future.

Each Momma has a colored folder and labeled file for every litter. Hazel's color is turqouise. I LOVE this system! Thank you for keeping us organized!

This wealth of information is just one tiny piece of what we provide to our KBD families. This is the difference between choosing a breeder who raises their puppies on curriculum and choosing a breeder who skips these beginning foundations.

Do your research! See the difference!

Follow along and learn what it means to raise a puppy who is empowered and confident to tackle their new world! This is just the beginning!

Who is ready for another round of puppies?

Hazel is confirmed pregnant!

Hazel was bred to Boone for a litter of F1 standard tri colored Bernedoodles. This is a repeat breeding and if you followed along for Hazel's "European" or "Mixed Nuts" litters you know just how amazing Hazel's babies are each time!

We are thrilled to be bringing one more Hazel and Boone litter into the world. This litter is planned to be Hazel Basil's retirement litter.

These babies are planned to go home the beginning of May which is the perfect time to bring a new little love into your home just before Summer begins!

This litter list is currently full. This will also be our final litter until Fall/Winter. We will be taking a much needed break this Summer.

Let the countdown begin! Hazel's babies will be here in just a few more weeks!

The "Survivor Legend" Puppy Families

Have I mentioned how much we love our puppy families? These 10 families swooped in at one of our most trying moments in our program. Each one of these puppies were placed either with previous puppy families or puppy family referrals.

Welcome to the 3|17 Korte Bernedoodle Family for the 1st time, 2nd time, or even 3rd time! Thank you for choosing us, trusting us, and being willing to love and support these sweet babies.

Cozy Cate

Cozy is our AKC Bernese Mountain Dog keeper puppy from Ivy x Scout's "Salt City Eats" litter.

This girl is genetically clear and comes from 2 parents who have beautiful OFA hips, elbows, and PennHIP scores. She is marked absolutely perfect and as photogenic as a 10 week old could possibly be. I mean just look at her!

Now let's talk about her temperament. Cozy is loving, super affectionate, eager to please, has incredible human focus, desire to please, loves to train, confident, and basically what we call a "bomb proof puppy." She is ready for every and any adventure.

This girl is everything we could have hoped for from Ivy x Scout. We are thrilled to have her in our program as a future Bernese Momma.

Official Introduction

Cosmos Cate - Formerly "Rio" from Ivy x Scout's "Salt City Eats" AKC Bernese Mountain Dog litter.

As many of you know, each dog in our program has a special meaning to their name. Each female also has a plant based name.

Cozy is named after the cosmos flower that symbolizes peace, love, and harmony and in Greek means "beautiful." I couldn't think of a more fitting name for this stunning girl.

Cosmos Cate goes by Cozy, Coz, Cozy Cate, and even her whole name at times. Every one in the household has fallen in love with this affectionate little one.

Prepare to fall completely in love again with another KBD puppy. We can't wait to share more about this gorgeous girl!

"Survivor Legends" Update

This is part 3 of a series of posts about our most recent trial. Make sure to go back and read part 1 and 2.

Through this time of trial we have chosen to look for the good in every day. We were able to bless 10 families with a puppy who was raised to be confident, empowered, and full of unconditional love. Each puppy has made tremendous improvements and will no doubt be loved deeply.

We may never receive the answers we have been looking for through this journey but we are committed to moving forward with full transparency in all aspect of breeding. We will continue to provide the best care for our adult dogs, our puppies, and ensure our puppy families are informed throughout each journey.

I have a long healing journey ahead of me. I'm physically and emotionally drained. This is the part of breeding that simply knocks you off your feet. We pour our heart and soul into each puppy and puppy family. The hardest part is knowing that you can do everything right and yet there is still so much out of our control when working with living souls.

Our 2025 didn't start out the way we had envisioned but I know there is goodness in every time of trial. My faith once again has been strengthened. The lessons my children are learning about life, loss, headache, joy, and God's faithfulness is something that will only make them stronger in their own walk with God.

Choosing us as your breeder is more than just choosing a puppy from an ethical breeder. You are choosing me. You are choosing my program. You are choosing to walk along side a breeder who pours her heart and soul into each and every puppy. You are choosing a breeder that has complete transparency and is committed to ensuring you receive the best fit puppy for your family. Although the journey may not be easy or go as planned, I guarantee the ending will be worth the investment in our program.

2025 is just beginning. I can't wait to share our most recent puppy families and puppy placements. Prepare for an overload of joy! It's time to celebrate all our 18 puppies being placed in incredible homes.

“Survivor Legend” Update

This is part 2 of our “Survivor Legends” update. Make sure to go back and read part 1.

The day before “Go Home Day” we had 10 puppies with no homes. It was a day filled of heartbreak, defeat, searching, and asking God for help.

I decided to reach out to our previous puppy families and update them on our "Survivor Legend" litter and current challenges. The love, support, and kindness I received was an unexpected blessing.

Our puppy families went to work. Within 1 day, on our original "Go Home Day" we had 6 puppies placed with either previous puppy families or puppy family referrals. 2 more puppies were placed the next day with again previous puppy families or referrals.

The outpour of love we received for our family and our puppies has been so healing. The families that came into our home to meet our puppies accepting all the unknown, was a breath of fresh air and a testimony to God's goodness.

Our final 2 puppies were placed over the weekend with a previous puppy family and a family from our "mini" "Priority List." We ended up having 6 other families in line to take home the final 2 "Survivor Legend" puppies in case any family changed their mind. How amazing is that?

I'm happy to report that we have seen tremendous progress in our litter symptoms. All puppies have decreased in their tremors or have no tremors present and leg strength is almost completely back to normal! God is so good.

The phone calls, texts, flowers, words of encouragement, and so many prayers I have received over the past 2 weeks from our puppy families is something I never imagined we would have when starting our program. We have been covered with love and prayers from all over the US. I know I say it a lot, but we truly have the BEST puppy families.

God showed up big time. Not once did I doubt he would see us through. I know it's okay to be sad, angry, and question the difficult moments we face in life and in our program, but I also know that God will provide a way through. His goodness prevails.

Stay tuned for part 3 - our final litter update.

"Survivor Legends" Update

We were faced with an unimaginable situation just 6 days before our "Survivor Legends" "Go Home Day." Little did we know that this litter would truly become "Survivors."

We noticed symptoms develop in our litter that led us to the ER vet, our primary vet, and even OSU neurology department. We did a glucose test, full blood panel, and liver shunt testing. All testing results came back within normal range.

The health of our dogs/puppies is our top priority. Our adult dogs complete a full DNA genetic panel, OFA hips, elbows, and PennHIP to ensure we are bringing healthy puppies into the world. This litter pairing had a previous healthy litter without any complications and yet all 10 of our puppies developed "tremors" and a few experienced weakness in their hind legs.

OSU said it could be genetic and yet for every genetic disease our parent dogs tested clear. It could be an infection that Mom developed while pregnant. Mom showed zero signs of infection but we know infections can be silent. The last theory was linked to our deworming protocol. The dewormer given has been safe to administer but all symptoms linked back to the deworming dates.

We spoke to a vet specialist with the deworming company. Her expertise led her to believe that our litter had a rare reaction to the medication. Although this theory can't be proven, it is what makes the most sense.

Puppy families were notified of all details each step of the way. We gave them the option of taking home a puppy at no cost, they could move to our next litter, or we could refund their reservation fee. 7 families opted to move to our Spring litter while 1 decided to look elsewhere. Every single family had nothing but kindness and support in the midst of such pain.

The heartbreak of all involved was much to bear. It was truly a moment when I wanted to walk away and give up the dream. However, we now had 10 little souls that we promised to love and care for regardless of any difficulty we faced. There wasn’t time to fall apart or give up.

Stay tuned for part 2 & 3.
