At KBD we are committed to ensuring we are not contributing to overpopulation of puppies. We will breed when there is a demand from our “Priority List.”
We decided after Remi’s “March Madness” litter that we would require 8 paid reservation fees in order to breed Remi’s retirement litter this Fall. This decision has led to several potential puppy families not choosing us as their breeder when it should do the exact opposite. You should want a breeder who is making ethical decisions and only breeding dogs when they have a solid list for their puppies. Choosing an ethical breeder should be priority number one!
The market has shifted drastically. New families are wanting a very particular look and a precise timeframe. Unfortunately, in the breeding world so many factors are out of our control. No breeder should ever guarantee anything beyond a healthy puppy. If they are guaranteeing any of those ideal “wants” then the breeder is either breeding too many parent dogs at a time or simply being untruthful in order to get your reservation fee.
Puppies are living, breathing little beings that have a soul, a purpose in life, and are more than just their physical look or gender. We are not God. We can not design the perfect litter for all families.
We do our best to make educated predictions of “Go Home Dates” based on past heat cycles. We progesterone test our females for the optimal time to breed. Our Mommas all get an ultrasound during pregnancy to confirm puppies are coming. We have protocols in place for before breeding, during pregnancy, and after pregnancy to ensure our Mommas and our puppies are safe and healthy. However, with all of that so many factors are still out of our control.
We want families that choose us based on our breeding practices, how we run our program, how we raise our puppies, and how transparent we are during the entire journey. If you choose us as your breeder then I guarantee the right fit puppy for your family will come
Check out our upcoming litters planned for Fall 2023. We have F1 standard and F1B medium tri colored Bernedoodle litters planned. All puppies come from genetic and health tested parents. Our puppies are raised on puppy curriculum and temperament tested to ensure successful placements for both our puppy families and our puppies.

The BAB Puppy Aptitude Test
At KBD we evaluate all of our puppies during week 7 to ensure we are being the voice for our puppies needs. This evaluation allows our families to make an informed decision before they select their puppy. Families are able to find their “best fit puppy” based on each puppies strengths and obstacles to overcome.
Choose a breeder who raises their puppies on puppy curriculum. Choose a breeder who helps empower their puppies by exposing them to new sounds, textures, locations, people, and dogs in a safe environment. Choose a breeder who temperament tests their puppies. Choose a breeder who ensures their puppies needs are met as well as your needs and you will be blessed!
