A friendly reminder: your pet wants everything on the table today… but their pancreas does not. 😂

👉 Skip the turkey skin, bones, ham, gravy, seasoned sides, dessert, and alcohol.
👉 Safe treats: plain turkey (no skin), green beans, carrots, pumpkin purée.

Give thanks, give belly rubs, and give zero table scraps that lead to emergency visits. 😉🐾

We never know what the day will bring at HVP… and today brought us a capybara patient! 😁🖤

Capybaras stay healthiest when their care is tailored to their needs, from proper nutrition to safe water access and routine wellness checks. During exams, we look at everything from their skin and coat to their heart and lungs, weight, mobility, and dental wear, especially since their teeth never stop growing.

Appointments like this remind us why we love exotic veterinary medicine. Every day is different, and every patient teaches us something new. 🩺✨

✨Wrapping up Vet Tech Week with our final spotlight: Emma!✨

We want to give a huge round of applause to Emma — who is officially a Licensed Veterinary Technician! 🎉👏
She studied hard, stayed determined, and officially passed her boards. We couldn’t be prouder to have her on our team and to celebrate this amazing milestone. 🩺💙

Her dream animal to work with? A tiger. She’s always wanted to feel those big paws and see just how scratchy their tongue really is. 🐯

When asked what she says at work that wouldn’t sound right at dinner, she didn’t hesitate:
“Where is your butthole?” 🤭 (Vet med people get it!)

Outside the clinic, Emma and her partner own a Mexican restaurant called Maiz de la vida taco truck. It’s a big part of her life and something she’s truly proud of. 🌮✨

We’re beyond proud of her dedication, hard work, and heart. Congratulations, Emma, LVT! 💙👏

Leaha’s been part of our clinic since day one. She’s knowledgeable, quick on her feet, and never afraid of a spicy cat. 😹💪 Her skill and dedication make her a key part of our team.

Her dream patient? A penguin. 🐧

Outside of work, you’ll find her soaking up the sun at the lake, making art, or cooking up something delicious at home. ☀️🎨🍳 At home, you’ll find her enjoying time with her goats and chickens, usually with Post Malone playing in the background. 🐐🐔🎶

We’re so thankful for Leaha’s hard work, loyalty, and dedication — she’s an essential part of our clinic family. 💙🐾

Megan brings skill, laughter, and heart to our team every day. Her favorite clinic smell? Strongid. Her dream patients? Bears and big cats — like tigers and jaguars. 🐻🐯

Outside the clinic, Megan loves puzzles and build kits, tending to her growing collection of houseplants, and spending time with her cats (she proudly owns her cat lady title). 🐱🌿
Her go-to artist right now? Twenty One Pilots. 🎶

✨Vet Tech Week Spotlight: Cassidy!✨

Cassidy is a mom to a 14-year-old daughter and four rescue dogs — with a soft spot for the small, scruffy seniors who need a little extra love. 🐾 Luckily, she’s got a boyfriend who fully supports (and often joins in on) her passion for rescuing dogs — because let’s be honest, there’s always room for one more. 🐶

Vet med has made Cassidy more assertive and stronger than she ever imagined — both physically and mentally. It’s strengthened her compassion and her drive to be an advocate for every patient that comes through the door.💗

When she’s not at the clinic, Cassidy’s usually lost in her latest hyper-fixation hobby — whether it’s crafting, restoring vintage Coach bags, or doing her nails — all with Taylor Swift’s TLOASG playing in the background (iykyk 😉). 💅🎶

We’re so grateful to have her on our team. 🤗

⭐️Vet Tech Week Spotlight: Matison!⭐️

When she’s not busy at the clinic, Matison’s probably serving at her church, hanging out with her siblings and friends, or loving on all her animals. 🐾💛

Her dream patients? A cheetah or a shark — because clearly, she likes a challenge. 🐆🦈
Her favorite clinic smells? Cough tabs, which she says smell like bananas. 🍌

If her dog had an online presence, she’d be canceled immediately for inappropriate enthusiasm toward all her friends. 😂
Current favorite song? “God’s Child” by Abe Parker. 🎶

Matison’s positivity, kindness, and curiosity bring so much light to our team. We’re so thankful for the energy and care she brings to every patient. 💙
