Open Sat 10-4, by appointment other days:).♥️🐓🐰🐾🐈‍⬛🐹🦔 I adopted Chicken Nugget from an animal rescue group named A Critter's Chance in January 2016. I went to the farm to pick up 4 bunnies to foster. He was the only tiny bantam rooster running around all full sized chickens. He was kind of following us around and I asked if I could pick him up.(I knew nothing about chickens) 'Sure, if he will let

you'. He not only let me, as we walked around he fell asleep in my arms. Deal breaker....Chicken Nugget was a stray that was picked up. Poor Guy had mites and his crown was frost bitten. I can't imagine that people just dump defenseless animals. At least have the decency to take them to a humane society or rescue group.He has now been part of our family for almost 8 months. He sleeps in his coop outside, but several nights during the week I bring him in and hold him for hours, while I watch tv, work, etc.

Tomorrow the Center will be open from 10-3 pm.
Our focus is on our adoptable kittens.
The foster of Ursula and Mannie is bringing them in. All, but one will be onsite for the day:).
The first 2 approved adopters for the older, 6 month old kittens (Smalls, Ursula and Mannie), will have their adoption fees paid by a sponsor. :) ♥️🐈‍⬛

Pumpkin season is upon us and we are in need of cardboard crates to collect and store donated pumpkins. If you work at Lowe’s, Walmart, Kroger, Meijer, etc and have access to these cardboard produce crates please reach out! We need at least a dozen. Thank you 🎃🎃

So, October was crazy busy, but I love the month for us to be able to participate in so much. It's a month where (usually) the weather is cool enough I can take Rock and other animals to events. So, I load us up!
We participated every weekend at the new Hobson Acres Fall Festival, WiseWood farm's Fall Festival, Antics on the Avenue, The Waters of Lebanon Trunk or Treat and hosted Halloween at our Center last night:). In addition, this month, Rock and I spent a day at Eagle Elementary and saw every classroom:). Also, we are participating in the Tiger Tracks program and have 2 Students coming 2-3 days every week.
The 2 Mini Donkeys we rescued, were adopted and have an amazing home. Thomas, the sweetest turkey, went to his new home on an adorable hobby farm, rescued sweet Grover, the Pygmy goat, a pair of ducks, 2 sep single ducks (already adopted), 5 more hens (adopted) 10 more kittens (2 adopted), another bunny, a ferret, 6 chinchillas, hamster, Rosella Parrot and a cockatiel. Busy month for intakes, for our little rescue:).
We participate in all these events and they take a lot of time and work, but the kids and adults love seeing the animals and we love to give back, but we aren't paid for these things and we have a lot of bills. We have
2 bunnies and 10 kitties that need to be spayed/neutered and some need additional vaccines. Please consider donating on our website, Venmo, Vet's office directly, or purchasing supplies.
Also, visit us at the Center! We are open Saturdays 10-4, by appointment the rest of the week. Thank you:)

Adoptable kitties! These 2 are at an awesome Foster's home.
We have 4 six month old kitties, super sweet and Social. Plus, the 2 3 month old kittens. This past Friday we took in 2 kittens that are approx 4 weeks old, also.

Come out and visit us at Hobson Acres Fall Festival today:). We will be there 11-6 today and tomorrow. Rock and Grover, adoptable kittens, bunnies and guinea pigs:). ❤️🐾🐐🐰🐈‍⬛🐹
They have an awesome set up, corn maze, hay ride, kids zone, food, drinks, Donna is there with her beautiful flowers you can make a bouquet or she will for you, and more!!❤️🌹🌻🌸
Also, they're staying open until 10pm tonight! Fun:)!!🍁🧡🎃

My heart is torn between happy and very sad. I delivered Thomas AKA Tom Tom (the turkey) to his new home tonight. Man, who knew you could bond with a freaking turkey?? I'm a committed rescue person but I never dreamed that would include a turkey!❤️🦃 I'm telling you, that Dude is AMAZING, sweet, smart, loving, the list goes on. So, I'll share a little bit from our last day together (unfortunately, FB won't let me post pics and videos both🙄).
However, I must add, I'm positive he's in the best new home❤️🦃❤️🦃

We have some healthy, laying young hens available for adoption! Anyone looking for a small starter flock? I'd like them to stay together, 6-8.
Also, 3 beautiful ducks, that definitely need to stay together.
Last, I (Keir) ADORE Thomas, but we do need to adopt him, also, if anyone would want a SUPER SWEET and Social pet turkey. He's a doll! Hold your Thanksgiving jokes, 😉.
All these animals are for pets, and need secure predator proof enclosures.

This morning I was trying to make a special breakfast for the chickens and Thomas rudely cut in and started eating before I was finished. He, also, eats separately from them and this wasn't his food! Anyone know of a turkey etiquette class I could enroll him in? (Axel in the background, just as happy as can be hanging out with the birds ❤️🐾🐓:)

Ursula is SO pretty and so so sweet. She's 5 months old and ready to be adopted by her furever family❤️🐈‍⬛. I love her torti markings:). She decided to hang out in this empty box by my computer yesterday:). Let us know if you want to visit and meet she and some of our other available kittens:). Today, between kittens at the Center and Fosters, or Fosters to adopt, we had 12 kittens brought in to go to the Vet for vaccinations. Gus, in particular REALLY wanted to get back to his new loving home😅♥️🐈‍⬛. I was amused that he was trying to unlock the door, I sure didn't see this coming! 🐈‍⬛♥️😅 The 2 Students and Teacher from Lebanon High School were QUITE amused! 😅❤️🎃

I adopted Chicken Nugget from an animal rescue group named A Critter's Chance. Fritz and I went to their farm to pick up 4 bunnies for me to foster, and help out. He was the only tiny bantam rooster running around all full sized chickens. He was following us around and I asked if I could pick him up, (I knew nothing about chickens). 'Sure, if he will let you'. He not only let me, as we walked around he laid his head on my shoulder and fell asleep! Deal breaker!! (I think Fritz’s exact words were, “Oh S@#t, we are taking a chicken home”)

Chicken Nugget was a stray that was picked up by someone and the rescue had just taken him in. The poor little Guy, (less than 1 pound!), I can't imagine that people just dump defenseless animals, at least have the decency to take them to a humane society or rescue group. He has now been part of our family for over two years (adopted January 2016). He sleeps in his coop outside, he always looks out for his peeps. He is loving and kind, but also a strong soul. At least, one night during the week, I bring him in, feed him special treats, and hold him for hours, while I watch tv, work, etc. I won’t lie, sometimes (OK, almost every time) we both fall asleep. He is a treasure! He (and his Family we have created) showed me that chickens are very smart animals, and can even be pets. They also deserve to be treated humanely!

In February of this year (2018), I made our rescue efforts official, and formed Chicken Nugget and Gang, Inc. It was only fitting to name it after the dynamic Chicken Nugget!

We are a small (start-up) Rescue, Sanctuary & Support group. We will work hard to support ‘Friends of Nugget’ which are other Rescues that we know do a great job of caring for the animals that they work with. We have many exciting ideas and plans in the works!
