Here are a few pictures of Heart Breaker freely working on voice command while I snapped pictures in the middle of the ring. She has a smooth stride which makes her a comfortable western pleasure horse, and as you can see, she has a floating reaching stride as well. She has 😊 done trail riding and seems to like it. She also has the excellent conformation from her World Champion sire. She wants to be a one person horse for whatever you would like to try.

Amy and I went to OKC for the Morgan Grand National weekend. Mike Gobig had a OUTSTANDING ride to win the Park Saddle World Championship. His ride and his mount (a 7 yr old mare) were head and shoulders above the competition.... AND Mike is roughly 6 yrs older than I am!

That is a new lease on my desires to show to a World Championship!
All ye grey heads.... Take heart if you want to do it (whatever it is) just DO IT!!!!

Is everyone ready for another 1-3 inches of snow coming to Northern New England? the ice predicted to coat the snow will put us back into the VERY slippery ground conditions. Be careful... We are ready for spring!!!

is everyone tired of winter? We are in the thaw-freeze then snow late winter season. the Driveway is ice, the paddocks are ice covered snow covered ice. Thank goodness for the indoor!!
Mitch twisted one of his ankles pretty badly slipping on the ice. Really want an early spring... How is everyone faring in this weather?

its -8 (real temperature) with no windchill this morning.... The wind is supposed to pick up later today. We left the lights in the barns all stalls and the isle to help keep the water from freezing. So far, its working. How's everyone holding up?

Here is one of our new lambs... Her dam is a white Dorset. This lamb was born grey with black and white markings, just as she looks now. She seems pretty unusual to us.
Does anyone know anyone who has had a grey lamb like this?

We adopted some roosters since the coyotes wiped out our geese. However, when you come to the farm beware of this guy... He has decided he is the farm guard!

This is what the farm looks like today, Wed 11/21/2018... Yes have snow that stuck 4-6 inches of it, depending upon where you walk. its the heavy sticky snow.. you can see a young spruce tree bent in half to the ground between the 2 hay wagons.

Its 2 days before Thanksgiving and we are getting snow. The picture is from 8 AM this morning... Its now 11Am and STILL snowing!!! It looks like we are really getting the 6 inches of snow that have been forecasted!

the coy-wolves have struck our farm. The picture below was taken this past summer, of our 40+ flock of geese. The coy-wolves have killed all but 2 of our 'door bell' geese! Yes we know that it was coy-wolves (not coy-dogs)... Mitch saw one of them last week, when the 'pack scout' wandered into Dorie's paddock late afternoon and in the daylight. She kicked the scout, but it got away. the scout is larger than the german shepards who board in our kennel!

Here are the same ducklings a bit older, and floating in large puddle that formed in the driveway. The horses are totally ignoring the ducks.

Mary took this picture of our new muscovie duck babies... They are a collection from 2 mother ducks... a third duck has taken them as her own, and in this picture they are being guarded by one of the males who probably thinks that he is the father!

some of our newest spring babies. The muscovie ducks where born yesterday. They are pictured where they hatched, in a dark corner of the barn. The lamb is about a month old.
They join the 'get the horses accustomed to anything' group on the farm..

With spring arriving, we have new spring babies... Shadow (our schnauzer) instinctively knows she needs to guard them.
