Today was rescue Tuesday at LVH! We were lucky enough to have 4 of these cuties in from the Animal Bond Foundation and this evening we will see a few new dogs from Wings of Freedom. Thanks for all you do!!

Please vote! This little guy was a medical surrender that has been treated, here at LVH, rehomed and is loved! The family plan to donate any winnings to charity to help other guys like him! He's just as sweet as he is adorable!

Stanlee is 12 months old adorable as ever and has the personality to match. He will wave hi we he meets you and slobber all over you.

Has spring sprung? Hard to believe with this extreme cold but this week LVH has seen (and smelled) MANY cats for spay/neuter! If you don't know what an intact male cat smells like...feel lucky! It is a lingering, ammonia-like smell that attracts females. Let me tell you- it DOES linger! We are seeing signs that the females are receptive, and the males are trying hard to attract them. Please spay or neuter them so we are not inundated with unwanted kittens in the coming months. Save a life-spay or neuter your pets!

Today LVH met with three great middle school students for their job shadow project! We bandaged pets, looked at X-rays and played “guess what that dogs ate!” Thanks Lebanon Middle School for sending us great students with great questions!!

Today at LVH, we lost our good friend Leo. He had been struggling with Pemphigus, which is an autoimmune disease that affects skin and mucous membranes. If you had seen him recently, you would know something was wrong. From his painful feet and ears and the infections that followed, he had been struggling. The docs had been brainstorming and took turns treating, bathing and tending to him along with our loving staff. Leo finally lost his appetite and energy. Today, we lost him. Please join us in your thoughts and memories of him and here are some photos to remind you of all he was to all of us.

Does anyone know what a bezoar is? Think Harry Potter…or veterinary medicine! Well, now a class of Lyman High juniors and seniors learned yesterday during their visit to LVH! Any guesses? I’m not sure FB will let me post a picture- or that you’d want me to but feel free to ask Dr Z to see it the next time you are in for a visit- he’s very proud of it!!!

All I want for Christmas is…. Well, Tyjah didn’t get to keep all of his teeth in his recent dental but his breath sure smells better! Now this little cutie can cuddle with fresher breath AND a healthy mouth!
