💕Today is National Lost Dog Awareness Day!💕
Here are some preventative steps you can take to keep your pet from going missing:
● Keep your dog secure. Whether on a leash or in a fenced yard, your dog is less likely to wander if it is secured.
● Training is valuable. Dogs who have been trained by a professional are less likely to go missing.
● Always supervise your animal. Dogs, especially expensive purebreds, can be stolen even from a fenced yard.
● Tags and microchipping help with the recovery of a missing animal.
● Spaying and neutering reduce your pet’s likelihood of wandering off in search of a mate and helps eliminate the chances of unwanted offspring should your dog wander off unexpectedly.
● Keep records up to date on your animals. That includes photos, vaccinations, and valuable tags & microchips.

🐾In honor of National Dog Bite Prevention Week, here are some dos and don’ts on how to avoid being bitten:

DO:
- Ask permission before petting a dog you don’t know
- Teach children how to gently interact with a dog
- Supervise interactions between children and dogs at all times
- Provide your dog with regular exercise and mental stimulation to help reduce anxiety and stress
Don’t:
- Allow children to sit or climb on any dog
- Disturb a dog while they are eating, sleeping or caring for puppies
- Assume that a wagging tail is a sign of a happy dog

February is Pet Dental Health Month! Everyone knows that routine dental visits are important for the health of our teeth, but did you know that it is just as important for your pet? Dental disease results from the buildup of bacteria, plaque, and tartar on teeth and beneath the gum line, causing pain. If left untreated, it can lead to systemic health issues as bacteria enter the bloodstream and affect vital organs. For the month of February we are offering 10% off all dentals!

Winter Heartworm and Flea Prevention-
As the temperature drops, it's easy to assume that heartworm and flea prevention for your pets can take a back seat. However, these pesky parasites don't hibernate in the winter, and they can still pose a threat to your beloved fur babies. Here's why winter prevention is crucial:
1. Heartworms Don't Hibernate: Heartworm-carrying mosquitoes may be less active in the cold, but they're not gone. Heartworm disease can be devastating, and prevention is the best defense.
2. Fleas Find Warm Havens: Fleas can infest your home year-round. With the cozy warmth inside, your pets can still fall victim to fleas. Prevention is the key to keeping them itch-free.

Here are some quick tips to ensure your pets stay protected:
Stay Consistent: Continue your pet's heartworm and flea prevention regimen throughout the winter. Consistency is key to keeping them safe.
