❄️ Snow Day Fun here at Preferred Veterinary Care🐾

When the snow falls, the fun begins! Our furry friends are having a blast in the winter wonderland, enjoying all the snowflakes, playtime, and fresh air! From snowball chases to frolicking in the fluffy powder, every moment is a tail-wagging adventure. 🐶✨

While winter play is always a blast, it’s important to remember that extreme cold can be tough on our pups. Always keep an eye on your dog’s comfort level and be mindful of the time they spend outside when temperatures drop. 🧣

Safety Tip: If it’s too cold for you, it’s too cold for your pup! Make sure to:
• Limit outdoor time in freezing temperatures
• Provide warm, dry shelter for your dog to rest in
• Protect paws from salt and ice by wiping them off after walks
• Watch for signs of discomfort, such as shivering or reluctance to walk

At Preferred Veterinary Care, our boarding and doggy day school pups enjoy safe, supervised outdoor play, and we always monitor their well-being to ensure they’re comfortable and happy. 🌨️💙

Everybody meet Ollie! Ollie is one of our faithful Doggie Daycare/Dayschool clients that has been working very hard on his leash skills, not jumping, and basic commands this week! He has come very far with his obedience and we just want to give him a huge shout out for being such a good boy!
We offer our Daycare/Dayschool services Mon-Friday during our regular business hours! We offer plenty of enrichment and supervised play to ensure the safety and happiness of your pup!

As the spooky season approaches, we want to remind all pet parents to keep their furry friends safe while you celebrate! Here are a few Halloween safety tips:

🐾 Candy Caution: Keep that candy bowl out of reach! Chocolate can be toxic to pets, and some sugar-free treats contain xylitol, which is harmful to them.

🐾 Decor Dangers: Be mindful of decorations like candles and wires. Curious paws can easily get into trouble!

🐾 Stranger Danger: If your pet is shy or anxious, consider keeping them in a quiet room away from the doorbell and commotion.

Pet Pain Awareness Month- A question that we are often asked is “how can I tell if my pet is in pain if they cannot tell me?” Pets can be very stoic in how they communicate that they are in pain, so at times they may not show any signs. The most common responses to look for are depression, aggression, limping, resistance to petting or grooming, not eating, panting excessively, and much more.
