We will be closed Wednesday July 3rd at 6pm Through Monday, July 8th at 8am to spend time with our families and loved ones over the 4th of July Holiday.

Please take a moment to confirm that you have enough medication, prescription food and supplies to last through Monday July 8th. If you need anything, please let us know as soon as possible. Please submit all prescription and food requests by this Thursday June 27th to ensure items are available.

If you have an urgent medical need during this time, Pet Emergency Treatment Services is available at any time. They are located at 930 North Queen Street in Lancaster and their number is 717-295-7387.

Please join us in saying farewell to Dr. Chasse. She has been an integral part of our team for the last year and a half. If you had a chance to have an appointment with her you quickly learned that her knowledge, kindness, compassion, love for animals and dedication to her patients was exceptional. From all of us here at Apple Creek we wish her all the best in her next chapter. We will miss you Dr. Chasse!

As the temperature continues to rise as we head into summer please be cognizant of hot surfaces before you head out for a walk with your 4 legged family member. The best way to tell if a pavement is too hot for your dog to walk on is to place the back of your hand on the pavement for seven seconds. If it’s too painful for your hand, then it’s too painful for your dog’s paws!

As summer is getting under way and the days are getting hotter here is a very important safety reminder for keeping our four-legged family members safe. The inside of a car will become much hotter than the outside temperature very quickly. Even when it is 70 degrees outside, the inside of a car will become dangerously hot within minutes and leaving windows open will have little effect.

Let's keep our four-legged family members out of danger this summer!

Everyone meet Bogey! Bogey is a 4 year old mini schnauzer/labradoodle cross who came in for his yearly health check and vaccines today. This handsome boy’s tail never stopped wagging and he had to greet every employee before he would allow his Mom to take him home! Thank you to Bogey’s family for entrusting us with his care 💙

We recommend for younger dogs, like Bogey, to have yearly exams but for our 10 and older patients it is recommended to have an exam done every 6 months. If you are unsure if your 4 legged family member is due for an exam just give us a call and we can check for you!
