We are watching the weather today, and will contact those with appointments as soon as possible if we need to cancel in the morning. The main concern will be how cold it’s supposed to be overnight.
Some of our employees live up to an hour away, so they are always free to make the call if they don’t feel safe driving in.
That said, if you don’t feel comfortable with driving in the morning please let us know. We can always reschedule or have you arrive later. Thanks so much, and stay warm!

Good morning! Steve and I are here, but the rest of our employees are staying home safe today.
Grooming and Daycare are closed today, January 10. Be careful if you have to get out!

Winter Weather-

With snow forecasted tomorrow we will be monitoring early tomorrow morning. Steve and I will be here regardless, but our employees will not be required to come in if the roads are bad. We will post here and facebook and call tomorrow if we close.

Let’s start the new year off right! Please remember that drop off is from 8-9 am. Anything past 9 is considered late and subject to a late fee. This is because we start daycare and grooming at 9 am. We have to stop what we’re doing and come back up front when you arrive after 9. We can’t leave dogs unattended, so it may take us a bit to make it back to the front.
Please be on time so that all the dogs can be taken care of appropriately. Thank you and we hope we have a great 2025 together!

And now, on this clear Christmas Eve, it’s time for the Houndstooth tradition:

‘Twas the night before Christmas
And all through the Houndstooth
Every doggie was stirring, they were feeling their youth.
The leashes were hung by the hall with great care
In hopes that the Houndstooth crew soon would be there.
With Steve in his hoodie, and I in my smock
We had just arrived to take the dogs for a walk.
When what to our wandering eyes did appear
But 6 large boarding dogs and 8 small ones in here.
More rapid than greyhounds, our doggies they came
And we laughed and we hugged them and called them by name
“Now Gadget, now Wally, now Jack, now Blaze, now Benji and Wrigley!
On Nugget, on Biscuit, on Thema and Deedee, on Oliver, on Emma Lee, on Nash and AJ! “
To the back of the daycare, to the end of the hall
Now come with us, come with us, come with us all!
Their eyes, how they twinkled, their barks were so merry
And we snuggled all the doggies and picked up the ones we could carry.
Then back to their beds they all happily went
And we tucked them all in because they were all spent.
So Steve and I said, as we walked out of sight
Merry Christmas to all, and to all a good night!
