This week at Reproduction Specialty Group, Inc. Dr. Tad performed an Embryo Transfer on a Conner Prairie Arapawa goat. We had already frozen two of the embryos by the time we took this picture, so in total, they got seven viable embryos. The two frozen embryos are on their way to the Smithsonian. The rest were transferred into the recipient does.

2024 marks 30 years of Arapawa Goats in the United States, starting with only six goats imported in 1994. The latest breed census showed that there are now about 350 Arapawa Goats in the US, roughly half the world’s population.

The buck that sired the embryos, Tasman, is only one generation removed from the feral goat population on Arapawa Island in New Zealand. The goats are slowly being eradicated from that location due to their impact on the natural ecosystem, with fewer than 100 goats calling the island home today.

The RSG Foundation is proud to support the work of small ruminant breed preservation and the introduction of new breeds into other countries.

💵Frozen Embryos: Embryos will be sold in lots of 2 or 4, with the freezing and ET work performed by RSG.
💥Embryo Transfers: Purchasers must agree to have embryos implanted by RSG as a condition of the sale.

🐑🐐Confirmed Bred Recipients: All recipients must be the result of RSG’s Embryo Transfer Program.

❎No buy back penalty: You set the floor on you offering. If the price you desire is not meet there is no fee for buying the lot back.
❎ No Additional Costs: An 8% commission rate covers SC fees, promotion, and the organization of the sale—no other costs to participate.
