Again, I am very sorry for anyone that was inconvenienced today with our modified hours. With two employees, including me with medical related issues, we were unable to staff the entire day.
I am disheartened by the 1 star review today, knowing that this is the second time in 2 1/2 years, we altered our hours for non-weather related issue.
I accept it personally, as I was the person that couldn't get there today. If you have been in recently, you know why.
Shout out to Juliet, who came in on her day off, delaying her birthday celebration to cover some of the hours.

When we said it 3 times in the store, many beagles came.

This is absolutely vile. Thank you Loudoun County Animal Services for letting people know about this.
Update: a friend of mine that lives somewhere else, just had this same thing happen.
"They received a call from a sheriffs department about their missing dog. It had been hit by a car, sent to an emergency shelter and they needed approval to treat her and payment."
My friend called the sheriffs office from another phone to verify. Scam!!!

SCAM ALERT

We have been made aware of several scams taking advantage of owners of missing pets. Scams may include callers posing as Loudoun County Animal Services staff, or posing as a pet tracking business. They may even use software to appear to be calling from legitimate phone numbers, claiming to have found a lost pet, or be willing to help for a fee.

LCAS will never:
🐶Demand payment via Venmo, Zelle, PayPal or similar apps, gift cards or ask for bank information
🐶Withhold emergency veterinary care from an animal

Protect yourself from these scammers:
🐶Verify any claims – ask for proof such as photos.
🐶Ask where they are calling from, hang up, look up the vet office/shelter’s number and call that number directly.
🐶Check the LCAS website. Stray pets in our care are always listed online.
🐶Verify a business license for Pet Tracking or Drone businesses through their local Commissioner of the Revenue office
🐶Never send money to strangers. Trust your instinct.
