Happy Birthday Benjamin! All he asked for was a new rooster and a plastic owl to scare away the hawk that has been hanging around the chickens. We think it attacked and killed our beloved Billy.

He was definitely loved and will be missed. I still look for him every time in go outside.

If you know anyone looking to rehome a rooster please let us know. I found an owl at Tractor Supply, but I haven’t found a rooster yet.

Good Morning! It’s been a while since we posted. It’s just been crazy here caring for the girls while dealing with the weather.

On top of the weather our beloved Boss Lady goy very sick. With the help of Google, Ben and I were able to nurse her back to health! 😀

We rescued three new girls that I can’t wait to Introduce to you and we are in the process of getting turkeys and a few more chickens.

To help with the cost of feeding them I plan to start offering baked items, canned goods, and hopefully fresh produce this summer.

In case you ever questioned how amazing this kid is…..

When Ben is not saving chickens he is helping out as a childhood cancer advocate. You may have seen him in a few The Truth 365 childhood cancer awareness posts. Where ever he is asked to help out he says yes without question.

This is him posing before a public service announcement video he was to be in. They were tying to raise awareness of the different types of childhood cancer. In the video his sister Grace was the cure. She wrestled the twelve different types of childhood cancer. In the end she took down, “brain cancer” (Ben) with a 5 point throw.

The camera guy kept asking for retakes. Even though getting thrown over and over was no fun, Ben showed up.

I just wanted you to see more of the amazing kid you’re supporting. Ben is the best! I love this guy and am so incredibly proud to be his mom.

Meet Ruby the Red Head

It’s bath time for Ruby. She was one of the sickest girls we have ever rescued, but we never gave up on her.

Ruby came to us with a pr*****ed, bumble foot, vent gleet, chicken mites, and chicken lice. Thank God humans can’t get chicken lice. I was getting tired of putting on my yellow rain slicker and complete PPE every time I had to give her an Epson salt bath.

She is now lice and mite free, her prolapse is fixed, bumble foot treated, and we ALMOST have her Vent Gleet completely healed up! It’s taken TEN epson salt soaks and a lot of TLC to get get here, but we are committed.

It won’t be long before she will be able to join the rest of the girls!

(Hopefully my husband doesn’t see her in the kitchen sink! 😂)
