Due to having two hurricanes roll over us in the past few months, our Florida Cranberry crop (Roselle Hibiscus) took a tremendous beating! We did manage to get enough Calyces to make a pint of Roselle Jam, dehydrated about 50 for tea and dried another 50 seed pods for seeds to be split up for replanting and roasting/grinding for a possible coffee replacement (definitely an experiment 😂).

After trying to achieve a decent loaf of sourdough bread since July 1st with minimal success, I decided to scrap the idea and go back to my old lean dough bread recipe with 125 grams of starter added in. This loaf I can live with!!!
Also baked a fudgy dark chocolate brownie sourdough discard recipe that turned out pretty good. Hubby’s snacks are made for the rest of the week!

Yesterday I was finally able to pull off another cheese I’ve had my eye on for a while.
Orange zest, toasted walnuts and Triple Sec in a Caerphilly Cheese (Holiday Cheese)!
Using 3 gallons of goats milk, this is the heaviest cheese round I’ve made to date. Weighing in at over 4.25 pounds!
The recipe suggested collecting the whey to make waffles or quick breads. I used it to make pancakes this morning.
The whole house smells amazing.
