We are looking for donated surgical suits, onesies, animal t-shirts, etc for us to use in clinic. We will also accept any old towels and comfy blankets. Please feel free to drop off any of the above to our clinic at 135 Robinson Mill Plaza SE, next to Lowe’s and Aldi.

🐾 MEET OUR TEAM 🐾
This week we are introducing one of our phenomenal doctors, Dr. Wolff! She has a nickname at our clinic - “The Olympian,” because of how efficient she is!

Dr. Lucy Wolff is originally from Fishers, IN, where she discovered her passion for animals from a young age. She grew up riding horses competitively and spent as much time as possible in the barn, caring for both the horses and barn cats.

She then moved to Clemson, SC, where she pursued her passion for sports and played softball while earning her undergraduate degree at Southern Wesleyan University. Dr. Wolff graduated from the University of Wisconsin School of Veterinary Medicine in 2022 (On Wisconsin!).

After graduation, she initially worked in emergency medicine, where she found a deep satisfaction supporting families during their most vulnerable moments and being the reassurance they needed while their pets were in critical condition. Practicing medicine in the fast-paced nature of the emergency room with a steady hand is where Dr. Wolff thrives.

Dr. Wolff currently lives in Berkeley County with her husband and their energetic vizsla, Cairo. When she is not at work, you can find her hiking with Cairo or spending time on her family's dairy farm.

🐾 MEET OUR TEAM 🐾
This week we are introducing one of our phenomenal LVTs, Julie! She brings so much knowledge and experience to the table, we are so lucky to have her!

Julie has been an LVT since 2002 as a graduate of SUNY Delhi. She started her career at a small mixed practice in PA where she treated cats, dogs, exotics, and large animals. She moved to NOVA in 2006 and started in ER/Critical Care and brought those skills to LUV for the past year.

She has volunteered to teach Operational Canine handlers how to care for their dogs in emergency situations for several years and enjoys passing on knowledge that could make a difference for them in the field.

Her hobbies include anything outdoors, reading, and home projects. She currently lives in WV with her husband and four crazy cats.

🐾 MEET OUR TEAM 🐾
This week we are introducing one of our fabulous doctors, Dr. Hodges!

Dr. Anna Hodges is a Maryland native, growing up in a suburb of DC. She completed her undergraduate coursework at University of Michigan (GO BLUE!) and received her DVM from Virginia Tech (GO HOKIES!). She has been in general practice in northern Virginia since 2009 and joined the team at LUV December 2023. What drew Dr. Hodges to veterinary medicine was a love of animals, what keeps her here is a desire to preserve the human-animal bond. She is excited to be part of this wonderful team, helping pets and their people in times of distress.
Dr. Hodges lives in Sterling with her dog, two cats, husband and son. When she is not at work, she can be found spending time with her family, reading, doing puzzles, and engaging in other low-impact activities.

Introducing, Meg! The woman behind the scenes who makes it all happen!

Meg Jobson started working at a veterinary clinic when she was 16, years old and has never looked back. After graduating From Mary Washington College with a degree in Biology, she went on to get her degree in Applied Science, Veterinary Technology. Originally from Oakton Virginia, she has lived and worked as a Licensed Veterinary Technician in not only Virginia but Montana, Texas and Pennsylvania as well. In 2022, after her youngest son graduated high school, Meg and her husband finally fulfilled their dream and moved to Florida to be near the beach and far, far away from snow. She is now extremely proud to be Hospital Administrator at LUV (remotely) and so blessed to be working for one of the the best veterinarians she has known in her 38 years in veterinary medicine, Dr. Rachael Dunn. She
also knows, without a doubt, that LUV has assembled a staff composed of the most compassionate, caring and skilled, CSRs, Vet techs, Vet assistants and Veterinarians that she has ever been a part of.

Hello Loudoun County community and beyond! We are going to be introducing our teammates each week to allow you (and your pets) to get to know us better! This is the start of a new “Meet Our Team” series!

🐾 MEET OUR TEAM 🐾
Today we are introducing our amazing owner and founder of LUV - Dr. Dunn! She is the Wonder Woman who made all of this possible ✨

Even 5-year old Dr. Dunn knew taking care of sick animals was her life’s passion.

Dr. Rachael Dunn is a Loudoun County native. Since she can remember, she has always cared for creatures big and small. Being a vet was something that she always felt was ingrained into her.

She attended Virginia Tech for undergraduate studies, majoring in animal science. It was then that Dr. Dunn became an avid football fan, Go Hokies!

In 2014, Dr. Dunn graduated from Virginia-Maryland College of Veterinary Medicine. She has since worked in general practice, feline medicine, urgent care, and emergency medicine.

What makes this job so special for Dr. Dunn is being able to help people’s pets when they need it the most. To her, there is no better reward than being a part of their journey to recovery.

Loudoun Urgent Vet will be CLOSED on Independence Day, July 4th. We will be open normal business hours of 3pm-10pm on Wednesday, July 3rd and Friday, July 5th.

4th of July can be scary for some pets, especially for those afraid of loud noises. Plan to leave your pet at home, safe and comfortable, away from harms way.

As the summer heat approaches, we want to remind owner of the dangers of the summer sun for our canine friends ☀️‼️We know that our dogs are our family members and we want them to participate, but sometimes it pays to let them stay home in the air conditioning.

Consider leaving your fur baby home when pursuing outdoor activities this summer, as they cannot sweat the same way we do, and they often overheat causing severe and sometimes permanent damage, or even death. We have a severe heat wave coming our way for the next 7-10 days at least, and we would hate to see anyone’s beloved pet suffering from the effects of this heat.

Know the signs, and seek care IMMEDIATELY if you think your dog is suffering from heat exhaustion or heat stroke!

Tips for surviving this heat wave:
1. Walk only early in the AM or late in the evening
2. Consider walking in grass or dirt instead of hot concrete or pavement
3. When outside, ensure there is plenty of fresh water and shade available
4. Limit outdoor play, consider a doggy daycare or something indoors
5. Our long haired dogs, short nosed dogs and young pups are far more susceptible to reap the effects of heat exhaustion and heat stroke, so take extra precaution

Today is the day!!

Come see us at Jefferson Memorial Park for the 15th annual Bark in the Park 🐾 hosted by Animal Welfare Society of Jefferson County. We will be set up with a booth, giving away doggie bags and we also have three baskets we are raffling off today!

Here at LUV, we work hard to be the best we can for our patients. We strive to be fully prepared, and we pride ourselves on our ability to handle tough and stressful situations. Although we never want to have to use CPR, it is important that we are educated and trained on the proper way, should a situation arise. The majority of us are RECOVER BLS certified, and we also held a hands on CPR learning course for our staff. PET HAS BEEN FOUND SAFE!!!

‼️‼️‼️Urgent help needed‼️‼️‼️
One of our patients slipped her collar in the parking lot today & took off headed towards Tripleseven (and perhaps towards Palisade Pkwy). Nugget is a sweet little black & white Italian greyhound (picture on site isn’t her, just an idea of what she would look like), she’s about 15 pounds, no longer wearing a collar but has a microchip implanted. A search party has gone around looking with no luck. If you have a sighting or any information on her whereabouts, please contact Countryside Animal Clinic @
703-444-1666. Owners are still out looking for her as well as working on flyer distribution. Will edit post with an actual Nugget picture once we receive it. Thank you in advance for any information
