Due to the inclement weather the clinic will be closing today at noon. Tomorrow, January 7th, the clinic will have a delayed opening. We will re-open tomorrow at 9am. All affected appointments and surgeries have been contacted directly by our client service team. ❄️ ⛄️

If you feel your pet is experiencing a medical emergency during this closure please contact your nearest Emergency facility. 📞

Introducing Licensed Veterinary Technician Appointments for Your Pets! 🐾🩺

We’re excited to announce a new service designed to provide even more comprehensive care for your pets! Starting January 2nd we will be offering Licensed Veterinary Technician (LVT) appointments at Catoctin Vet Clinic for both dogs and cats.

Our LVTs are highly skilled professionals trained to assist with a variety of important services, including:

Rabies vaccinations
Booster vaccinations
Nutritional counseling
Diabetic counseling
Pre-surgical Laboratory sample collection
Post-surgical care and surgical discharge
And much more!

These appointments allow for additional care options in a more cost-effective way while maintaining the highest standard of care for your pet’s health and well-being.

Update: Lepto now a core vaccine! 📣

The American Animal Hospital Association (AHAA) Canine Vaccination Guidelines have officially been updated! ✏️

Review your pets vaccinations, is your pet currently vaccinated for Leptospirosis? You can call our team at 703-777-8447 or text our team at 703-775-1382 to verify.

Setup an appointment with our office to vaccinate your pet. The Leptospirosis vaccines is a two part initial series, meaning one vaccination followed by a booster in 3-4 weeks. Once the initial two part series is completed, annual boosters are required.

🚨 Important Update: Leptospirosis Now a Core Vaccine for ALL Dogs
The 2022 AAHA Canine Vaccination Guidelines have been updated to classify the leptospirosis vaccine as CORE for all dogs starting at 12 weeks of age – regardless of lifestyle, location, or breed.
Why the change?
🌆 ALL dogs are at risk—urban, suburban, and rural.
⚠️ Potentially fatal, even with treatment.
🔄 Zoonotic—it can spread from pets to humans.
🏢 Dogs in daycare and kennels also face exposure risks.
