Paragon Eventing is looking to add a member to our team!! Working student position to learn the ins and outs of a sales and training barn in the heart of Area 2! Saddle time and pay based on experience. No living arrangements available at this time. Looking for at least a 6 month commitment butbwilling to entertain less for over the summer.

Duties include but not limited to:
🏇AM chores 5 days a week
🏇Holding for vet and farrier
🏇 Tacking/untacking horses
🏇 Grooming at shows
🏇 Lessons on our horses and possible competition opportunities based on experience

Everyday I'm learning more and more from Queen Contessa. Thank you to Sleeping Fox Farm Eventing for organizing and to Boyd Martin for helping me and Contessa get one step closer to my goal of intermediate this spring!!

This week might be a good week to give your horses off if you're in NOVA! Below 20° is not safe to ride according to veterinarians! Here at Paragon Eventing we are turning horses out in shifts to keep the barn warm and giving electrolytes AM/PM (1/2 scoops) to keep them wanting to drink water. We are also adding extra water to their breakfast and dinner.

Contessa didn't feel quite right at Old Tavern but I thought maybe it was the sticky mud and the thick air after we had days and days of rain...

Fast forward a week and my sweet girl colicked and found herself at Morven with a displaced colon and her heart not sounding quite right. We discovered that she was in Atrial fibrilation which was most likely the reason that she didn't feel herself at Old Tavern and could be the reason that she colicked. She went to the Penn Vet New Bolton Center where they did a successful cardioversion. All her blood work came back perfect and her heart looks good so we are all still scratching our heads as to why this happened. I'm so thankful to the team of incredible veterinarians from Piedmont Equine Practice (Dr Bowman), the Virginia Tech's Marion duPont Scott Equine Medical Center , and New Bolton for taking the best care of her possible!

We still have a road of recovery ahead of us but we should be back out there in the spring! Contessa is a heck of a fighter and I can tell how bad she is itching to get back to work!

The amount of emotion I've had over the opportunity to have this special horse in my barn and then her getting sick is unreal. She is a horse of a lifetime and I am so honored and blessed to just know her. Her being healthy and OK are the highest priority and if we think she won't be able to return to upper level Eventing she will always have her home here with me being treated as the queen she truly is, but all Vets are extremely hopeful and feeling positive about her return to Eventing after an easy winter!

Team Paragon Eventing is beginning the search for stall cleaning help M-F. 14 Easy stalls with mats! Stalls are done in the evenings and most horses will be outside. Located in Leesburg VA close to Lucketts. Paying $13/hour.

Contessa wins in preliminary at SVPC from start to finish! What an honor it is to learn from this incredible horse!! Cassie also came home with a very competitive 5th place finish in the preliminary!! 3 more riders and horses to go tomorrow!!!

Team Paragon, located in Leesburg VA, is looking to add a barn manager/assistant trainer position to the team! This is a professional and paid position.

What we're looking for:
✔️ Experience at at least Novice level eventing
✔️ Monday - Friday beginning at 7am and finishing between 4 & 7 depending on the day and time of year
✔️Feeding am/pm and bringing in/turning out with 4 corner check
✔️Riding 3-4 horses a day - hacking, trot sets, and some ring work depending on experience
✔️Knowledge of horse health and ability to identify signs of horses in distress
✔️A strong work ethic and the ability to self start
✔️Willingness to be a team player and a positive outlook!

What is offered:

✔️Access to lessons with myself and other trainers that I go to
✔️A stall for one horse
