In honor of National Spay and Neuter your pet month we are following Phineas on his countdown to neutering: 8 days!!!!
Today Phineas came in to have his blood drawn for his pre-surgery labwork. Even though he is young and had a clean bill of health throughout his puppy visits, it is great medicine to do bloodwork prior to going under anesthesia. The labwork will check to make sure his kidneys and liver are functioning well enough to process anesthesia safely during his surgery. It also gives his doctor good baseline values. Phineas was nervous on his way into the hospital but showed his appreciation by offering us his paw!! Good luck next week Phineas!!
