I'd like to update our Chippewa families and friends on the current situation: power and internet outages persist, cold water is available but gas is scarce. Food spoilage has been widespread due to refrigerator and freezer losses. Many local businesses remain closed. On a positive note, my grilled food supply is sufficient. Our dogs are adapting well, and dont seem to mind a bit. While progress has been made in clearing fallen trees, considerable cleanup work remains. We're thankful this incident didn't occur during the hottest summer months. As I write this by candlelight, now possible due to restored internet, I acknowledge your kind thoughts and prayers. Want to let all our Chippewa families and friends know we had a scary night with very high winds, ( Hurricane Helene ) we OK and so is the dogs/ pups . , Got lots of big limbs down , out of power since 5 :30 this morning, high winds still kicking butt, lots of our roads are closed . Not our first rodeo with these type storms . Safety to all in Helene's path . 🌀 🌀 🌀 🌀 🌀 🌀
