Today is , so we’re sharing some information about ’s health benefits for pups! 🎃

According to PetMD, “feeding pumpkin to your dog can help with both mild constipation and mild diarrhea because of its high fiber content.” Pumpkin is also packed with great nutrients, including vitamins A, C, and E as well as potassium and iron.

When feeding your dog pumpkin, make sure to give them cooked or canned 100% pumpkin with no added ingredients. Pumpkin seeds are fine, too, with or without shells—just be careful to watch your pup as they eat the seeds because they can be a choking hazard, especially for small dogs.

Never, ever feed your dog canned pumpkin pie filling, which may contain nutmeg and xylitol, both of which are toxic for dogs!

PetMD recommends safely feeding your dog pumpkin in the following ways:

🥄 By the spoonful
🥣 As a food topper (cooked/canned 100% pumpkin or seeds are both fine)
🦴 Stuffed in a KONG toy
🍦As a frozen pumpkin pup-sicle
☕️As a dog-safe pumpkin spice latte
