It’s nearly Howl-oween! Are you planning any spooky adventures with your dog this year? The ghoulish costumes of trick or treaters can be a little overwhelming, so here’s some tips to keep your dog happy when trick or treaters call around ➡️

🐕‍🦺 Take an early walk - If you can, help your dog burn off some energy on a walk during the day time and before trick or treating starts.

🧸 Keep them occupied - You can help your dog stay calm when the doorbell rings with toys or a slow feeder.

⛔️ Limit access to the front door- Halloween costumes can be scary to dogs. Try separating your dog’s access to your front door with a stair gate to get them used to visitors.

🏕️ Provide a safe space - Whether they have a crate or a dog bed, set up a comfy spot away from doors and windows for your dog to go to if they get overwhelmed

Fall is right around the corner, meaning cooler days ahead and some beautiful scenery. Some of our favorite aspects of the season can be dangerous for dogs though. Here are a few dangers for you and your fur baby to avoid this Fall.

Mushrooms: Avoid areas where you see mushrooms growing, to prevent your pup ingesting poisonous fungi

Candy: Foods like candy, chocolate and gum can be harmful to dogs, so make sure they remain out of reach

Decorations: Chewing on decorations can lead to a stomach blockage, so keep decorations in places where your dog cannot get to

Wildlife: Be aware of wildlife that are getting ready to hibernate for the colder months, to help your dog avoid an unwelcome encounter

School Supplies: Store items like pencils, markers or glue sticks in a backpack and away from your pup
