Meet FERGUS, the gentle giant you’ve been dreaming of! 🐴✨

This 16.3-hand, 3-year-old Canadian Sport Horse/Clydesdale cross is the total package: kind, quiet, and oh-so-huggable. 🥰
He’s green but willing—confident at walk, trot, canter, and a pro on trails. Plus, he’s built like a tank and happy to carry a heavier rider with ease.

Fergus is truly an old soul in a young body. Whether you’re looking for your next partner or a forever friend, this sweetheart will steal your heart. 💕

Currently in training in Asheville, NC, he’s available to a home with access to a knowledgeable trainer—because this special guy deserves it!

➡️ Priced in the low 5s, starting with a 1. Don’t miss your chance to bring Fergus home!

Ruby, of course! 🐾

* looking for a part time barn helper *
Small boarding and training facility located in Leicester looking for 12-20 hours of mostly AM shifts & some weekend work. Please only respond if you’re an experienced horse person ready to work! A one week (paid) trial and references required.
Duties included:
- mucking/feeding/blanketing/turning out
-handling young/baby horses
- setting up jump courses and grooming an arena
-tacking/untacking/cleaning/small projects
-riding sale horses if the candidate is experienced enough
-assistance at horse shows
-helping with sales video/online social media

This is a great opportunity to learn about a training and sales business that has been operating out of the area for over a decade, but I am not able to train someone on the basics so you must already have that knowledge and then some. Reliable transportation must!

Position starts officially mid January but trial could be as soon as next week.

A couple of horse world professionals created this really cool guide to buying horses and the ins and outs of purchasing and it’s now listed on my website for only $12! I would have loved this 15 years ago as a quick reference guide instead of scouring the internet for hours of semi helpful information! Please share with your horse shopping friends 🙂

A practical list of considerations, checklists and resources to help you choose a long lasting and well paired partner. This is a document curated by a well-established trainer, barn manager and horse sales professional that will help you think outside of the box when purchasing your next horse.

Hay coming Wednesday- it’s mixed grass square bales and is available to pick up
At my farm as well as grain and clothing items. Please send me a PM so I can organize distribution.

10/04/2024

I will be getting a donation of hay to my farm in Leicester delivered from my family and dear friends in Vermont who are driving it down sometime next week. Please send me a message or text me if you are needing hay, include in that message how many horses you have and the amount of bales you’d like to get and we will try to make a rationing plan for when the hay arrives as well as send everyone a pick up date.

So many emotions and such utter exhaustion this past week- I feel so sad for everyone that lost farms, homes, family, pets. I feel so sad for the beautiful towns of WNC that we have enjoyed with our family over the years and now they’re gone. Sad that people are still stuck in unreachable areas with no food and water, animals as well. I also am overcome with gratefulness that we still have our farm and horses and our family is all accounted for. I am so grateful for my husband who supports me at the farm day in and day out when it’s not even his endeavor. I’m beyond heartened by the family and friends both horse people and not who have been supportive during all of this, bringing us grain, water, checking in, showing up, sticking around..the community of support is amazing and also a reminder that we need each other, we need people..animals are wonderful but it’s your neighbor and your friends who you’ll need to turn to when s**t hits the fan.
I am also just physically and mentally exhausted; being a farm owner and caring for 13 horses is hard enough, add a natural disaster to the mix and there is no break, no “mental health day”, no “I need a minute”..there were multiple days I didn’t even get to see my own children this week because I was schlepping water buckets to horses for 12-14 hours a day and couldn’t get home safely. You show up and do the work no matter what. That’s hard. And I hope everyone that boards their horses knows that, that is a priceless commitment you’re getting to your animal. I am so sorry for all of the loss in our beautiful community and am hopeful to be a part of the recovery process in any way possible. Take care of each other, say Thankyou, check in on your neighbor, be good.

This is a late post but congratulations to my student Catherine Kemper on her purchase this summer of our sale horse “Tu Ari”. They continue to train weekly with me and I’m
continually impressed by this pair and their progress! I have to say all of our sale horses have gone on to do super things and I love hearing about their successes 🫶

We have FOUR youngsters waiting to find their new people right now at our farm and I’m really looking forward to matching them as well as Catherine and Tu Ari were paired!
