We are saddened to announce that Lenas Horizon was humanely euthanized this morning due to the effects of old age.

A 1994 son of SMF Lenas Award, "Horizon" made his mark in cowhorse events and passed on his classic looks and kind disposition to his get.

His highest earning offspring was Rey Jays Award, piloted to 3rd in the NHRA Open World Championship standings in 2011 and NRBC Classic Challenge Reserve Champion in 2012 by Peter DeFreitas.

Double Run horses at the NRHA Derby

Peter DeFreitas will go home from the NRHA Derby with not only a Novice Horse Open Level 2 [1] co-championship but also the Novice Horse Open Level 1 [2] win and all three High Point Buckles. All of this was won on Carlton & Khris Crowe’s solid mare, Keep On The Sunnyside.

Double Run Farm is looking for individuals interested in cleaning horse stalls at a well maintained facility. Experience with horses and farm equipment is a definite plus. Pay is provided weekly and starts at $8.50/hour for the first month of employment. Following the first month pay increases to $10/hour with health benefits. The farm is currently inaccessible due to road flooding. Everyone is safe, dry, and healthy. We anticipate that the water will begin dropping late Tuesday or early Wednesday, and the roads should be clear by the end of the week.

There is the possibility of damage due to washouts.
