K.P.I.A. Neighborhood News
Season’s Greetings!
Who and What is the KPIA?
Kingston Park Improvement Association is NOT an HOA; we are a neighborhood club that uses our collective buying power to get a reduced rate of annual trash pick-up. We’ve been a part of the Kingston Park subdivision since the houses were first built and purchased, at the end of the Great Depression!
We’re lucky enough to have members who donate towards such neighborhood extras as:
*Building, organizing, and repairing The Little Library at Tacoma and Winston.
*The Free Mask Clotheslines of 2020 and 2021.
*The Halloween Haunted Island (it took a break, due to the Pandemic but returned in small form this year…and shall return in force, in 2023!).
*Residents who cut the grass at the islands on Tacoma & Winston, and Winston & Atlas.
*Just having a great neighborhood of folks who know and help each other.

We used to have an annual barbecue and potluck; hopefully we can start that again this year, if we have enough folks who are interested! Please make sure that you and your neighbors are members of the Kingston Park Neighborhood News group, on Facebook. There are other groups, but that is the official group that is updated by the KPIA. Please feel free to post in this group if you’re in need of help, recommendations, garage sales, or celebrating an event.
Subdivision Safety
The subdivision has been experiencing a dramatic increase in criminal activity, this year. From stolen bicycles, destroyed trees, and damaged landscaping, to theft from vehicles, this is something that has never before occurred in Kingston Park. Many of our neighbors have installed security cameras; if you have experienced a crime, they may have it recorded. Please let check with your neighbors, and please make a police report. Our officers at the Fourth Precinct take crime seriously and will respond – but only if they’re made aware of the incidents! The Fourth Precinct can be contacted on their non-emergency line, at 314-615-0162. In the meantime, let’s keep our porch lights on, if we’re able, so that the security cameras have a better chance of catching the necessary images.
CHANGES IN ANNUAL DUES AND A BIT OF GOOD NEWS
Trash went up, as expected. We were able to cover the difference, last year, with the little bit of leftover funds that we had from interest, but, unfortunately, rates will be going up a little less than $2 per month, per household, for a total of $230 a year.
We were able to negotiate our payment schedule, so that, IF NECESSARY, members can make TWO payments of $115, one before January 15th, 2023, and one the other before May 15th, 2023. As always, the full payment can be made at one time. Payments are accepted in check, cash, or money order. If you rent, please remind your landlord.
THIS IS STILL A SUBSTANTIAL DISCOUNT!
American Eagle continues to offer a discount to all members of the Kingston Park Subdivision group. If you are not presently a member, you can still join now, and take advantage of the reduced rate.

We are attempting to reduce mailing costs. We will post this to the Kingston Park Neighborhood News Facebook group page. If you are not a member of the page, and if we do not have your email address on file, we will mail a paper copy. We really prefer to not need to spend the postage. If you receive this via traditional mail, please contact one of your KPIA officers to ensure that we have your email address for the next newsletter.

Wow. Shout-out to the neighbor who “made several calls” to St Louis County Public Works, regarding the expired plates on a car IN MY DRIVEWAY, that I’ve been working on getting fixed.

If you really have nothing better to do with yourself, allow me to make a suggestion that isn’t printable.
