Bella Bellona Needs Your Help

Meet BELLONA, whom we call “Bella Bellona”, meaning “Beautiful Goddess of War” since Bellona is a courageous Mastiff, surviving on the streets after being dumped & having medical issues that require immediate attention. Mastino Rescue inc. became aware of Bellona in a high kill shelter & promptly contacted the Shelter & Sugarland Ranch. The Shelter worked collaboratively with Mastino Rescue and Sugarland Ranch to get her out asap as her time was limited.

It was her fantastic & loving temperament that saved her life and even though she has miles to go resolving health care challenges, she is quite a love and a giant lap dog!

Bella Bellona needs your help, please donate as we proceed with what we at Sugarland Ranch do, and that’s identifying, coordinating & obtaining expert veterinary care as well as providing a loving environment along with great food! This fantastic purebred, female, black Neapolitan Mastiff will ultimately make some lucky human a fantastic, loyal, devoted and loving companion. CARLO – Looking for a Forever Home

My name is Carlo and first thank you for all the donations that have been made to help me recover. My eye surgery is scheduled for next month and I’ll be at Sugarland for the month of December and ready for visitors including anyone who is interested in adopting me. I’m a male (blue) about 3 ½ yr. old, now neutered and had my tummy tacked. I’m healthy, gaining weight and my Foster Mom has helped to train me so I’m more than ready to find my forever home. TOMMY BOY
February 19, 2012 – October 7, 2021

To our beloved Tommy Boy, aka “Tom Cat”, our Last Man Standing, after 35 years of living with our beloved Mastiffs, your passing marks the end of an era and with endings come new beginnings. We had so many talks especially after your Soulmate Lavinia, your “LuLu Bear”, left us in December, 2018. You were so lost without her, so many great times walking the Sugarland trails, all together, and then having those talks, trying to prepare both of us for life at Sugarland without Lavinia. We managed through difficult times with you always at our sides. We remember all of the wonderful times when we first met at the Shelter, you were so young, vibrant and what a wonderful Companion. Words cannot express the loss that we feel, the emptiness having to say goodbye yet knowing that you were on your way to be with our Lavinia. Knowing that you were making your journey to her, provides us comfort, also knowing that a piece of our hearts will always be bound with yours & your presence is always known to us.

BABYCAKES
September 26, 2009 – July 16, 2021

To our beloved “Cakes”, you blessed us with your presence September 26, 2010 referred by the Nevada Humane Society. You were named “BabyCakes”, combining the names of two of our beloved Companions who left us in 2010, carrying their legacies. You were our very first Presa and what a joy you have been. We so much miss your companionship especially our many walks in the desert on our beloved Sugarland Ranch. Your Auntie Opal played such a huge part in your life. She was with us at the beginning and at the end. Being the wonderful photographer that she is, many pictures of you leaping over the sagebrush (and our Great Room over the tops of furniture!) with Botticelli whom you adored, we treasure these moments. Truly without a doubt you have been our most athletic Companion. You loved your Auntie Opal so very much and she loved you. We know you have joined the many others now after lingering here until you knew that we would be okay. We love you our beautiful Presa, keep Sampson #1 in line and the others, especially your soul mate Botticelli, where ever you have traveled and know that a piece of our hearts have gone with you.

I am writing to you on behalf of Carolyn and me to thank you for almost 10 years of taking such extraordinarily wonderful care of our two beloved little Jack Russells, Molly and Bailey.

On the recommendation of a good acquaintance of ours when we were living in Reno, we first entrusted the care of our two ‘children’ for 10 1/2 months while we were overseas. When we returned, we were thrilled to find our ‘girls’ in even better condition than when we left them. For this reason, we have continued over the years to bring them to you.

Even though we now live in California, we still have such high regard for the extraordinarily great care that you have given our pets, that we still are quite happy to drive the 2 1/2 hours each way to return them to your care. -- Adrian and Carolyn
