1 week old. They’re starting to open their eyes and a couple will give little hisses at new scents or sights. They still sleep most of the day and stay cuddled together.
Hope had 5 beautiful babies early this morning 💕 we named them Peace, Glory, Honor, Valor, and Justice. Mom is doing great and eating well and everyone seems to have the hang of nursing 🙏🏻💕
Excuse me, lady, the hay ball is empty.
Maggie and Simon love to snuggle 💕 They would love even more to have a forever home for the holidays 💕
This little surprise appeared this eve in the eventually-to-be master bedroom of our home. It’s under construction and there’s no floor, just this sheet of wood laying across the floor joists so we can walk in there when needed, so it must have snuck in from underneath the house. There is an adult kitty that looks just like it we have been feeding for a couple of weeks in the front yard. I wonder if there are other babies somewhere? This is the first one we have seen and it’s already old enough to eat solid food.
Graduated to the big kid pool today 💕
Opened up the babies’ kennel yesterday to see if they wanted to go exploring. They didn’t. 🤷♀️
Let the babies venture out this morning to explore the rest of the yard. It took them about an hour before they were confident enough to leave the kennel and go looking for mom. Mama Molly wasn’t a fan of them being out and quickly left her friends to lead them back.
That’s a wrap for momma Molly. 9 little babies, 1 a couple days behind the others but already catching up, eating and drinking and wandering about. 💕
8 so far 😳 We can see at least 4 more eggs in her nest 💝
Donkey enrichment…
Moses is getting so big. He will be 4 months old one week from today 💕

Introduced the donks to a Hay Optimizer tonight. This is their “mini” version with shorter legs than the original to allow for a more natural feeding position and easier for smaller equines like donkeys to be able to reach the bottom. All that hay on the ground is waste from the previous feeder. With the Hay Optimizer, it stays inside nice and tidy because it is covered by netting which also slows down their eating pace and is healthier for them. There are drain holes on the bottom to allow dust and moisture to fall beneath it, keeping them from eating and breathing the dust and preventing mold.
This is our 2nd Hay Optimizer. Our horse Nikki got the first one and it worked out so wonderfully we bought 2 more, one for the donks and one for our daughter’s horse who is boarded where she lives.
