Volunteer Based Cat and Kitten Rescue We place cats and kittens in foster homes and nurture them until they are old enough and healthy enough to be adopted.

Kitty City Kansas Rescue is a licensed cat rescue and 501(c)3 non-profit group of rescuers and individuals who have an affinity for cats. We take kittens and cats from various area shelters and occasionally the public, that are too young or ill to thrive in the traditional shelter environment. Since many of the animals we take in are very small or ill, monetary support is always needed to help wit

h medical expenses. Or just make a general donation! Think you could be a great addition to our team? We are always happy to have more volunteers and foster parents come on board!

These precious littermates were adopted together in May 2023. Their previous names were Pancake, Sausage and Biscuit. Look at their pics when adopted in May and now December 2023.

Merry Christmas Everyone!!

This is Mac (boy, lighter/gray tabby) and Dee (girl, darker/brown tabby). Their wish this Christmas is to find their forever family ❤️.

They are such social kitties but they don’t show well at the adoption center! They will meow and paw at you for affection. They're both part-time shoulder cats and if you kneel down to let them, they will climb up to get on your shoulder, purr, and rub their face against yours. They will request this of you on occasion. It is best to comply.

Both enjoy a good amount of cuddles and play time. You can count on Dee joining you regularly for TV time. She loves a good, comfy blanket to make biscuits on during the show. They both love being in your lap if they find you sitting at a desk. Dee also likes carrying soft small toys around the home. Mac favors the wand toy and will drag it everywhere (even when you try to put it away for the day, he may find it and sneak off with it when you aren't looking). They both love a good window view for squirrel/bird watching. They enjoy wrestling each other too.

They're bonded and looking for a forever home where they can stay together. They're great with other cats and dogs too!

We want to thank the one and only, Sherman, and his mom and dad for coming out to Kitty City on Friday to help raise money for our Special Needs Fund and for a chance for his fans to meet him. Last but not least, we want to thank all of his fans for coming out to support us and for being so patient with the King Diva himself! It was a great success! We raised $2,188!!

We had an ABSOLUTELY FANTASTIC WEEKEND at Kitty City!!!
We held our first annual Holiday Bazaar and Sherman meet and greet and raised $2,188 for our Special Needs kitty fund.
We rescued 7 precious kittens from death row - 5 underweight kittens full of fleas and worms, 1 with a hurt/broken foot and 1 with ringworm. We received several cases of kitten food for all of the kitties in our care AND EIGHT kitties found their new furever homes of which 4 had been with us for several months.

One adult - Alana, Two teens - George and Lovebug and Five kittens - Pumpkin Seed, Black Bean, Onyx, Jenny and Sandie. Congrats to all!!

WE ARE ALMOST OUT OF KITTEN CANNED FOOD - WE NEED PATE FOR THE KITTENS. ANY HELP IS APPRECIATED!

Hi! We have had a very busy year and it doesn't seem to be letting up any. We have 97 kitties in foster and we just brought in another 7 little kitties from a rural kill shelter. 5 of them were just over a pound and FULL of fleas and tapeworms, 1 has a broken foot and another has ringworm. After we set the foster homes up with their weekly cat food supply - we have 6 cans of kitten food left and need your help! We have 2 wish lists below and you can choose the shelter shipping address in KCMO and it will come directly to us.

Saffron is the sweetest girl in the whole world with the most beautiful green eyes!! She’s a young mom to 5 adorable, fluffy kittens and now she’s ready to be a playful kitten herself! Saffron loves attention and will put her soft head under your hand when she needs pets. She’s recently been introduced to laps, and she is a BIG fan. We’re not sure how much handling Saffron received prior to her arrival at Kitty City, but she is by nature a loving, brave girl and affection comes as natural to her as breathing. With her sweet personality she should adapt well to new situations, including children and other pets (after a proper introduction!).

How cute is George next to this little Christmas tree?! George is one of the LAST TWO kitties that were dumped at our front door in August! Honey is the other still looking for a home. Both are starting to hate coming to the adoption center so they’re getting cranky and not putting on a good face to potential adopters (that’s why Honey isn’t pictured…she wasn’t cooperative for pictures at Kitty City). However, here are some of the wonderful things their foster family says about how good they are at home:

George and Honey are loving cats who have a sweet personality and really like to be with their people. George will jump right into your lap if you let him! And he really likes to play! Honey completely lives up to her name. She is a super affectionate kitty.

Jenny is getting in the holiday spirit!! Jenny is an adorable and curious kitten full of wonder and playfulness. Jenny is a cuddly lap cat! She is captivated by the world around her and the thrill of wrestling with her siblings and chasing after toys. She loves to be around her people and cuddle while she takes a break from playing. She’s looking for a fun home where she can continue her adventures and get to know her forever family.

Willow is getting ready for Thanksgiving! But she’s also hoping today is her lucky day so she’ll have a forever home for the holidays!!

Check out these sweeties! Dee (darker tabby girl) and Mac (lighter tabby boy) are hoping today is their lucky day to find their forever home!!

They are a sweet sister and brother pair that want to stay together forever. Dee loves to cuddle as much as play. She loves to run around the house with her brother and play with little mice toys. Mac loves to play with Dee and cuddle up just the same. He is very energetic and sweet.
They are the sweetest pair and their forever family will be so lucky to have them. They have fit in perfectly with the other cats in their foster home and, while they haven’t been around dogs, with the right introductions would most likely do great with them.

Charlie (grey tabby boy) and The Pearl (stunning blue eyes girl) are loveable, energetic, and adventurous little kittens! They were found on the streets alone, fending for themselves along with Simon and Cookie. They are bonded and love each other very much so would like to be adopted together. Both of them love to be picked up and carried around on their back like a baby. Charlie will ask to be picked up but Pearl, not so much (way too busy!).

Princess Peach wishes everyone a Happy Halloween weekend! She also hopes to see you this weekend at Kitty City!

Princess Peach is a true lap cat! This little tiger lady is a warm, snuggly toddler cat with the loudest purr! She is looking for a forever home where the family has movie night so she can sit in a lap for extended cuddles. She also loves giving jump bumps, playing, leaping, and exploring. She doesn’t seem to mind the old dog in the foster home. Princess Peach will be an excellent companion to her forever family.

Who’s getting excited for Halloween?! Baby Spice is!

Baby Spice is a bit shy at first, but once comfortable, will talk and become very active, playful and curious. She goes crazy for a feather wand toy to the point of exhaustion! She can be held and petted, and loves back scratches and belly rubs. Sometimes she is a little head shy when reaching to pet her or pick her up.

She will be fine as an only cat or maybe with a companion cat or two that won't be intimidated by her stronger personality. She would do best in a quieter house and with older children.

Ginny gets so depressed at the adoption center but when she’s in a home and settled she’s a total love bug and purr machine (she has the loudest purr motor). She would be fine as an only cat or with a younger cat or older kids.

Honey

Joey and Ollie are a bonded pair hoping today is their lucky day! They are timid at the adoption center and may need time to adjust. Ollie hides but soon as he trusts you he and Joey come running! Alice and Mitchell are another awesome dynamic duo! They came to Kitty City with their mom Seda when they were only 3 weeks old. Can you believe they are now 6 months and are still waiting to find their home?! Because they’ve been coming to Kitty City for a few months now, they or more like Alice 😅 can get pretty grumpy when she has to come in. Can you blame her though?? Check out their video to see them grow from itty bitty babies to the stunning beauties they are now and to see how sweet they both are in a home.

Mac may be shy at Kitty City and afraid of some men but check out this video to see a day in the life of Mac in her foster home ❤️

Meet Mallorie! She is a beautiful, sweet spirited little lady that loves and loves! Mallorie was recently returned as she was a bit too rambunctious. So she is looking for her new forever home with someone who is looking for a very playful kitty - hopefully somewhere where she is the only cat as she likes to be the queen and center of attention ❤️ She will be sure to win you over when she rolls over for a good belly rub…her favorite!! Don’t be fooled by her demeanor at Kitty City as she is just afraid there, but she is so happy in a home!

Milo (7yrs) and Marshmallow (5yrs) are one of our awesome dynamic duos. They have been together for 5 yrs, so they need to stay together. Milo and Marshmallow both like to play and are just a joy to have around. They are not comfortable with dogs, but they can’t wait to meet you!
