Happy Thanksgiving!

Tomorrow is Thanksgiving, and for many folks that means loads of delicious dishes and a busy household full of guests! While you're passing the potatoes and pumpkin pie, it may be tempting to share with your fuzzy four legged family members too. But, many foods we enjoy are dangerous (or even deadly) for our pets. The safest bet? Only offer your dogs or cats pet treats they already enjoy and tolerate well, and reserve the "people food" for your human guests.

Please note our office will be closed Thursday Nov. 23rd and Friday Nov. 24th for our staff to enjoy the holiday. We look forward to seeing you all happy and healthy after the holiday weekend!

Good Caturday Morning everyone! It's nearly Halloween, and while we love to celebrate the 🦇Spooky Season🕷, it's important to make sure we keep celebrations safe for our pets.

🎃Keep candy and "people food" out of reach of pets, including wrappers and toothpicks.
🎃Candles can singe fur & whiskers or start dangerous fires if knocked over- keep them away from pets and burn only under supervision.
🎃Some pets love dress up, but others prefer the 'natural' look. Work with your pet's comfort level when it comes to costumes, and be sure any outfits aren't tight around the neck and don't restrict movement.
🎃Keep pets away from the door if you are expecting visitors or Trick-or-Treaters. Any pet can get excited or scared enough to run through an open door, even if they never have before. A secure room where your pet can hang out in a quiet, safe space is best.
🎃And just in case- be sure your pet's ID tag and Microchip info is up to date. These are the best ways to be sure your pet comes back to you if they happen to get lost.

It's getting spooooooky around here! Our office is fully decorated for Halloween, and we've already had our first "trick or treat" visitor. Bo popped by to say hi and show off her adorable little skeleton hoodie.

Ah, we're finally seeing an end to the heat and cooler temperatures are rolling in. But that doesn't mean the pests are calling it quits. Did you know "Flea Season" in Kansas and Missouri lasts all the way into December? Who knew Santa's reindeer could leave a few of those in your pet's stocking?

The best defense against a flea infestation is prevention, and we recommend keeping pets on preventatives year-round. Not sure what to pick up for your pet? Call or stop by the office to discuss options for flea, tick and heartworm prevention!
