Yesterday Brooke and Gigi did an amazing job! We have not quite gotten to her diagonals yet as she is still getting comfortable controlling at a trot.
Gigi tends to fall off the railing sometimes as she likes to test her riders to make sure they are paying attention to her. Yesterday I came up with the idea of putting cones, polls and Barrels on the railing to help the students identify when the horse is coming off the rail to push them back over again.

This! Did you know that this is the correct way to saddle your horse? I always place my pad then saddle on my horse and then I grab my pad and pull it up into the pommel of my saddle. Sometimes I have to do a little jiggle with my saddle to get it just right but I always pull my pad up off my horses wither.

We are big at teaching the "why" - this was too good not to share. It's the "little" things you do to help your horse that makes them happy and enjoy their time with you.
⬆️Pulling your saddle pad up into the pommel.
💪 It can can take a bit of practice with saddle shifting and pad pulling, but your horse will appreciate it.
🙁 Without being pulled up, when the saddle is cinched the pad presses down on the withers potentially causing discomfort.
😀 With the pad pulled up into the pommel the withers have room to move and there isn't a pressure point.
If you aren't already in the habit of doing this the next time you ride put your fingers between the pad and your horses withers while walking or trotting.
It's our job to make sure that they can comfortably carry us. This simple shift ⬆️ can help to make that happen.

This is Emily’s second lesson ever with us. Today she learned how to trot in an English saddle!

Enjoy the little things when it comes to your horses. We don’t always have to compete, or train. Sometimes it’s simply just hanging out with them

Noelle and Buddy Next week we will be going back to a little bit more basic riding on a long line to focus on balance in the saddle again. I will do my very best to post video of her doing her stretches at a walk and trot. Doing stretches while you are in the saddle help a lot with focus and balance. It’s a weird feeling to have to lean down and touch your toes while in the saddle and still keeping nice form! I will share photos in a bit explaining why stretching is so important for you and your horse

How’s everyone’s week going? Hope you are enjoying lots of Play time in cool 💦 with the HOT 🥵 days to come! *Bruce got a bath during the start of the hot weather. Today, Bruce Gigi, Diamond, and Olaf also got a rinse off and didn’t run away from the hose 🤣

Is it raining but you still want your lesson? There is ways to work around the weather 🤣

We went for a beautiful trail ride yesterday! I took one of my students for the first time and she absolutely loved it!

Today I met another Natural rider. Looking at the video you would think this is lesson #3 or 4 but today was the first time he had ever taken a lesson. He had been on a horse 1 other time before today and let me tell you! I had to ask 2x “Are you sure this is your first lesson?” He was able to Walk controlled, Trot controlled, and Lope controlled. On a very stubborn big red Pinto who loves to try and bring his riders back to me 🤣 Yes there is some work that needs to be addressed but over all I am very impressed! Good Job today Anthony I cannot wait to show you the ropes of owning your own horse one day! You will be in those trails in no time!

Bruce had a really nice lesson today. Indi has been working on position and hands over her jumps.

Kadence LOPED!! First time!! *Yes I know she needs to Quiet her hands and focus on her heals more in a canter but this is her first time ever with No fear! And a smaller saddle for her* Soo proud of her!!
