After an action packed 12 years, Dr. Nowicki and his wife April have decided to move on to their next chapter of life. At the end of May Leslie Veterinary Hospital will be closing. We have sold the facility to Saved by Zade, a non-profit cat rescue that has been doing great work with Leslie and surrounding communities.
Dr. Nowcki transitioned to handling mainly surgical cases since the covid pandemic in 2019. The entire veterinary profession was unable to keep up, things were awful for both clients and the veterinary professionals. My skills were best utilized helping with the surgical needs. I found that surgery is what I enjoyed most.
Saved by Zade brought us a few of their bad cases periodically. There has always been significant cat overpopulation in this area. These folks really stepped up, now adopting out more cats than ingham county last year. They really needed a centralized location between Baker College and Michigan State University’s Veterinary Teaching Hospital. They are rescuing an incredible amount of cats and could use our support. They will now be able to provide in-house facilitys to veterinarians who may be able to donate time.
Thank you for letting us care for your pets. We really love our personal relationship with our clients and pets. We are going to miss everyone. We plan on a much needed vacation. I don’t plan on retirement just yet, but a change of pace will be appreciated. It has been an honor to serve the Leslie community.
