I've literally never done embroidery (other than cross stitch). It always looks gorgeous as I scroll through my feed of talented artists. I finally decided to join the and got my first kit this week. I'm in between portraits right now, so I started this month's stitch club a few days ago.
It's definitely NOT perfect and it looks nothing like what other people in the stitch club are posting, but I'm doing something I never thought I could do and I'm pretty proud 💅

Jackie reached out to me for a birthday gift for her sister. I quickly got to work, and honestly when I saw there was potential for space buns, I was so excited!
I absolutely loved stitching up her adorable nieces. I wasnt sure what kind of shirt to put on her brother in law. She mentioned he always has Marvel shirts on so ✅ DONE!
I went to get Jackie's shipping address and it turns out she lives in the part of Queens that I lived in as a small child. It's not really talked about often so life once again proves it is a super small world!

What a nice, relaxing portrait to recreate! Jenna was super laid back and great to work with. Recreating her younger son’s hair and overalls was so much fun. I always love the simplicity of a raglan tee on children (or adults!).
The biggest struggle was getting the name lined up since it’s so long 😅.
I’m so happy to have finally been able to recreate this beautiful family !

When Olivia sent me a family portrait, I was immediately drawn to the color of the outfits. I think the fall vibes *really* drew me in. This portrait was particularly relaxing for me to make. I loved making her little ones striped sweater, and stitching Olivia's hair was super satisfying. The icing on the cake was stitching their beautiful family pup 🐶

Here is the finished product from my Valentine’s Day giveaway!
Melissa decided she wanted different shades of red in her portrait to make it more “Valentines-y”. I really enjoyed going through my endless stash and picking out all different color reds for this portrait!

The Elwell Family 💚
Guys. This is my most prized stitch to date. When Brenda sent me a photo of her family, I couldn't wait to start stitching! Can you even blame me? Look at them!
Then, she asked for mountains and trees because they love going to Vermont. I can't lie. I panicked, and went 😬🤯. Once I started free handing the mountains, I was more at ease. I looked through my book from for some tree inspiration and got to work on those two big trees. I am so proud of those babies 🤣. I literally just kept showing photos to people and turning it around to my husband while we were watching T.V. for approval.
This was also my first time doing "real" hair on all members of the family.
What an absolute pleasure to work with Brenda to recreate her beautiful family.
Like I always say, the sky is the limit with your portrait. If you want it, just ask! I might panic, but I won't tell you and then I'll do it! 😅

The Castro Family 💜
This portrait is my sister in law Melissa, my brother in law Anthony and my nephew AJ. Also in the portrait is Chesnut, Charlie and Chloe - their 3 shihtzus 🐶! Chestnut went to doggy heaven a few years ago, but they definitely wanted him in their portrait since he was such a huge part of their lives.
Trying to get perfect colors for these pups was tough! But I love a good challenge.
I generally don't do eyes in colors other than black...but all 3 of them have piercing blue eyes so I just had to.
Creating portraits of people I don't know is so much fun, but when it's for family I REALLY enjoy it because I get to use more than just pictures! I love adding a little personality and an idea of what I think they would wear in real life.
I'm actually writing this before they even see it. It was a Christmas gift, but my family missed Christmas because we all had COVID 😷.
I'm hoping they LOVE their portrait!
