Hello from a snowy and cold Southwest Michigan!
The geese and ducks are loving the blizzard weather. As are a couple of the chickens!
It’s comfy, cozy in the barn for the goats, barn cats and livestock guardian dogs.
We’re stocked up on food for all the animals and humans.
The portable generator is tested and ready to go if necessary, but fortunately still have power.
The bathtub is full is water, again in case we lose power. We’re in a well, so we would lose access to water if we lose power, and the animals don’t stop getting thirsty and the toilets still need flushing!
We have both a gas grill and a Solo Stove that burns wood. So again if we loose power, we can make hot drinks and food.
Every towel, blanket and piece of bedding is washed.
The truck is fully gassed up.
The neighbours and our farm hand and family know that if they lose power they are welcome here, pets and all.
One thing I’ve learned in my years in tge Air Force, and reinforced living here, you can never be too prepared.
This is why we ask our clients to fully populate PetPocketBook with Care and Feeding instructions for our pack members.
Stay warm and safe everyone.

Staff member Alison on an orientation walk with new pack members Callie (and her owner Karis behind the camera).
Callie, a rescue dog from Oman, is a trained Service Dog and so used to very specific commands.
This situation is a great example of why we provide every new client a FREE ‘Meet and Greet’ prior to starting services, and staff to staff orientation’ visits when we add staff members to a clients team.
Welcome to the pack Callie!
Poppy loved it when his little (big) sister gives his face a good wash.
Agility dogs in the making!
Our two lab puppies, Harper and London has their first puppy training class yesterday. They loved all the fun things like jumping and the wobble board.
Thank you Carolyn’s Courteous Canines.
Triple Trouble
Triple trouble and a rope toy
The positive, for the first time Harper didn’t need to go out to the bathroom in th early hours. The negative, they were both WIDE awake at 3am! Usually Harper wants to go potty about 1am and they get up between 4-4:30am. I’m determined to see this as a win...😬.
Update: Of course by 4am they were both back fast asleep...and I was wide awake! Lol.
Baer came over to join my pack for a play date today and fun was had by al
Rome on the run!
This young man has energy for days! I spend an hour with him each weekend day and between playing fetch and a brisk walk we about tire him out...for a bit anyway!
Reminds me of David and Goliath!
But really it’s our new lab puppies Harper (the chocolate one) and London (the yellow one).
Never a dull moment!
I’m not Lilas is as impressed with Gideon as I am!
