Lewes Unleashed Dog Park Lewes Unleashed is a private, non-profit, members-only dog park in Lewes, DE. Park hours are from dawn to dusk. Access to the park after hours is not permitted.

We are installing a new front gate starting Monday.

Dog park will stay open — enter via service gate only.

Starting this Monday, February 3, we are replacing our sometimes balky entrance gate with a high reliability locking mechanism to make the dog park more secure.

The front entrance will be closed for 4 days. To keep the dog park open and safe will take everyone’s cooperation with a few temporary rules:

1. Entry will be through the side service gate only from Monday, February 3 through Thursday, February 6. See map for entry location near porta-potty and large shed.

Where is the service gate? Where do I park?

After turning from New Road onto Park Road at the flagpole, turn right as usual onto the road that ends in the parking circle and look to your left: you’ll see the service path to the service gate (on map above). You can park on the service path (right side only, to allow cars to turn around and emergency vehicle access), or alongside the road, or as usual at the parking circle and walk your dog back to the service gate.

A Lewes Unleashed Board member will monitor the side gate during open hours next week to keep it latched, remind members of the temporary rules for safe entry and exit, and ensure that only our members and dogs enter the dog park.

Reminder: Howl-🎃-ween at the Dog Park 2-4 pm this Sat., Oct. 26

Calling all dogs in costume for a boo-ti-ful afternoon. The fun starts at 2 pm, well after the Sea Witch Parade in Rehoboth.

We’ll have soft drinks for everyone, souvenir Lewes Unleashed water bottles, and on your way out, all-natural treats for your pups— please eat elsewhere!*—from in Millsboro.

Photogenic dogs will be posted on our Instagram and Facebook.

Please be advised that a water leak sprang just outside the dogpark gate this morning (near the bulletin board). A pail was place in the sinkhole for safety. The water to the park has been shut off. Please BRING YOUR OWN WATER for your hot doggies on this blistering day.

The water fountains will be off in the dog park until 3pm today while the irrigation system install is completed. Please bring your own and if you’re planning a warm, sunny .

The shades went up over the two park pergolas yesterday in preparation for sunny days to come. The annual Park Clean Up Day is Sat. Apr. 20 from 9am to noon. Volunteers are asked to bring gardening tools and gloves to assist preparing the park for Spring. We need about 40 members to assist.
