Dog Friends, Missing Dog in Denton, MD!!

BELLA (approx 45 lbs, collar) escaped the car in a panic when her parents stopped briefly (Aldi parking lot) while traveling to Lewes, DE from Washington DC. Bella does not know the area.

If you happen to travel through the area, please keep an eye out for her and Do Not Approach. She is very fearful and will run. If you know someone who lives in the area, pls let me know. Please call Ruth: 301-366-1208 with any sightings.

Sometimes Puck comes to help other dogs learn too. Here he shows Kai how to turn the car into a fun game of “tunnel!” You see Kai is anti-auto. Today’s session was all fun and games, because cars can be fun. Puck thinks so.

Puck is a therapy dog that works with the OT professionals at Child Inspired with his handler/mom, Lisa. Canine-assisted therapy is an incredible way to quickly build rapport, reach subjects that otherwise might be off limits, is experiential and, honestly, a lot of fun. I should start a series of pics… Often towards the end of a session when my client is getting some homework notes or scheduling our next follow up my client’s dog lays at my feet, almost always touching my foot or on my foot, very relaxed. I grab my phone and take a pic.

I have and do recommend using a lifejacket for a dog. Not all dogs, but you would be surprised how much calmer they swim with a well-fitted lifejacket. Not all dogs naturally swim parallel to the surface of the water. (guess that got edited out)

What an update!! Our latest news in what Lisa and her dog Puck have been up to lately. Have a clinical team interested in involving animals into their practice, give Lisa a call.

Child Inspired is so excited to welcome another inspiring team member, Lisa Tudor. Lisa will be providing much need mental health and therapeutic support services with her unique professional skill sets and advanced training. Stay tuned for more information about Wags In Learning & Doing (W.I.L.D) and Canine-Assisted Psychotherapy. Lisa will be leading small groups and participating in therapy interventions with the help of furry friends to support the development of social skills, impulse control, problem-solving, and emotional regulation.
