This wild week began as a rescue mission for a lost pet cat, and ended up as a rather busy, but successful TNR (trap-neuter or spay-release) adventure! After these videos were taken the cats were safely removed from their cages, and taken to the vet for their vaccinations, and spay/neuter. Four cats total were trapped, and of those four two will be released. The other two are spicy 🌶️ kittens who will remain in our care until they are ready for placement with one of our rescue partners. The sun has gone down on another day at our little holding area that is a sanctuary for unwanted pets, and we would like to take the time to remind you that with the temperatures being majoritively colder, that while we wish every pet could come inside, we know that in many cases it will not happen. Pets that absolutely can not come inside, need adequate shelter.Here are a couple quick tips to remember. Your dog’s shelter needs to be up on a pallet, or other elevated structure which will allow air to act as insulation. It will help them to stay warmer by avoiding direct contact with the cold, wet ground! Lots of straw stuffed into the space will allow them to burrow in and keep their body heat. A simple warm spot for outdoor cats is a foam cooler with a hole in the side and again, add some straw, and it becomes a little haven for them. You all, I hope you don't mind me showing you what we deal with. Here is a short from one of our stops today. We could only get two of these beautiful pups today. 😭 Working on getting more, but resources are slim right now. We need rescue or an adoption group to help by committing to some of these. We got out what we could today but...what a mess. Three more and mama, who is getting fixed and staying unless I can change their mind. :( Questions, text me at 931-698-9991. Thank you to all of the folks who turned out for this. I had been busy at the table and was unable to be inside for a lot of the events held there, but we are so appreciative and grateful to the beautiful hearted young ladies who came out for this! The Sullivan family is amazing for all they do to help the animals who are in need in this county and we couldn't do what we do without the support of these wonderful folks and all the other community members who always say YES and help with funds.
