This happened only a couple miles away from me!
THESE TWO — A MINY DONKEY AND A MINI PONY — BARELY SURVIVED BEING THROWN FROM A SPEEDING TRAILER.
This should NOT happen.
Their new owner explained:
——
Nick,
I want to being awareness to an awful situation that happened this weekend.
On Saturday I went to the Lewisburg livestock auction and won the bidding on a micro mini pony and a mini donkey.
I spoke with the owner and agreed that he wouldhave them delivered later that night .
These are my Christmas presents to myself to add to my small hobby farm.
Instead of a joyful fun ordeal, this turned into a completely traumatizing event.
Me and my neighbor were anxiously waiting for the arrival of these two small babies.
When the trailer arrived, all I could see were full-sized, black adult cows — not my small animals.
I told the driver “this are not what I bought.”
He said they were on there.
I began looking through the trailer.
No, they were not .
I then noticed that the very back compartment was empty and the doors wide open.
Panic set in .
The driver seemed very calm and said, “Well, they were there a few minutes ago.”
Immediately me and the neighbor ran to our vehicle and begin traveling the route he had taken .
Nick, this man let these poor babies fall out of a moving trailer while going 45 to 50 mph.
About two miles from my farm, there were several vehicles stopped in the road.
We located the miniature donkey there in a driveway of a home and secured him.
We went a few more miles and spotted the micro pony.
This was not an easy catch.
He was in shock and took flight to a field, but we caught him.
Upon arrival back to my farm, the driver never apologized.
Both suffered injuries from road rash and were shaken up from this horrible incident.
——
HMMMMmmmmm … seems to me someone has some explaining to do — either the seller who sent them off or the driver.
Glad the animals survived.
THAT’S NO WAY TO DO BUSINESS IR TRANSPORT ANIMALS.
