Logan Haus Kennels is located in the beautiful Greenbrier Valley in southeast West Virginia. We specialize in breeding and raising world class working police and sport dogs. Our puppy program prepares the dog for every possible environmental stress he will encounter on the street. We start with the highest quality dogs available and only breed dogs that have passed the most rigorous health and tem

perament testing. It is our belief that in order to produce the best working dogs possible, you must first start with dogs that possess an almost unmanageable amount of drive, power, and courage for your breeding program, and then raise the puppies with absolute commitment and attention to detail during their first year. Our foundation brood stock comes from the best KNPV lines imported directly from Holland. Our puppies begin training at 3 days old with bio-sensor stressing, thermal stressing, and different tactile positioning. From about 3 weeks of age they begin the exposure and imprinting that continues throughout their first year until they enter into their working home.

Another day, another 10 minutes on a back tie, this time chewing on a smoked chicken foot.
These puppies have no idea the outrage they caused by happily munching on a raw chicken wing last week. 😂

Just to be clear, using a back tie has nothing to do with teaching our puppies “place.”
Here is a quick idea of how we teach the foundation for a clear “place” behavior using food, a clicker, and an elevated cot. We utilize 100% motivational training at this age. This puppy is also learning the basis for sit and down and the cot is a great place to teach those behaviors.

It’s always amazing to watch what a good adult dog will teach a puppy. A week ago this pup was rambunctious and rude with Squish, our Patterdale terrier and resident puppy raiser.
She is fantastic at teaching these young knuckleheads manners and to respect space. She will correct disrespectful behavior like nipping, pawing, and running into her with just the right amount of butt kicking and yelling without doing any real harm.
It’s neat to see him here today, making all the right choices when interacting with her.

Such a nice quiet evening on the farm. The remaining Ivan x Bold puppies are learning that a back tie is a fun place to be. Chicken wings are everyone’s favorite snack!
