Congratulations to Brett Schmit on this absolute stud of a deer! I want to thank Brett for trusting me with such a special trophy. I truly appreciate it. This buck officially scores 192” and places it 6th all time in Minnesota’s record book for a typical archery buck. It also places it first all time in Winona County for a typical archery buck. How awesome is that!

Good Luck to hunters headed out for tomorrow’s fi****ms opener! Reminder that I can satisfy the DNR requirement to have your deer sampled for CWD. This year the MN DNR is once again making CWD testing of your deer mandatory. I can make sure you fulfill the DNR’s requirements to have your deer tested whether you are going to have your deer mounted or not. I do not charge for this service. If you are going to have your deer mounted (by me or someone else), you do not have to go to a DNR sampling station to have it done. In fact I strongly encourage you not to (if you plan on mounting your deer) because the damage they can cause to your deer hide will be un-reparable. After I send in the sample to the DNR, you are able to check the results online on the MN DNR website by entering your MN DNR number. If you have any questions please give me a call or message me. This weekend in Minnesota all deer in SE 300 hunting zones are required to have the glands removed for CWD testing. If you shoot a trophy buck and would like to have it shoulder mounted I can remove the glands for you and get them sent it for testing. The DNR stations can not remove the glands from your trophy without ruining the cape. Any questions feel free to message me.
